Re: The End Of The Rooted Evo?

Everything is still fresh and new to everyone sooner or later we will be able to flash ROMs and customize like crazy. When the dust settles xda and ppcgeeks will prevail. I gotta give much respect to the hard workers in this forum and other den_forums

yeah this is from my EVO.

Re: The End Of The Rooted Evo?

between the talent at XDA...and the talent here?? There has yet to be a device that these two pools of talent hasn't been able to crack. As long as there are beta builds...the devs have code to work with...and as long as the devs have code to work with...we'll always have root/hspl/jailbreak/unlock...whatever term you want to use.

Re: The End Of The Rooted Evo?

If youre already rooted and nandunlocked calkulin already has a rooted Rom in xda that I loaded and was still rooted afterwards. I'm still able totether and use titanium backup which both require root. I'm on my phone right now and don't remember the link but just Google it.

EDIT: Here's the link

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?p=6983049

Must be loaded from SD card using Recovery.

Re: The End Of The Rooted Evo?

I've flashed/rooted every pda phone I've ever owned.. except this one. I think it runs great stock. Yea, Id like to get rid of sprints crap and HTC's crap.. but I'm good with it stock. ZERO problems. The most reliable smart-phone I've ever had. Tis each Tis own I guess.

I root to tether and to use titanium backup (requires root) which restores everything back. You can also restore from a nand backup. Makes life easier. I still run stock rom even though I'm rooted since I like the stock. And also with a rooted device you can store app to SDcard with an app called apps2sd.

Nope. I did use pdanet when I was out of town.

Now.. if 4G was solid in my area.. that might change my mind. But with 3G, i'm not interested.

So, if/when 4G gets to my area. Or.. they make rooting as easy as it was on the Samsung Moment.

Re: The End Of The Rooted Evo?

Even if HTC would release 2.2... I mean, we (xda/ppcg) have 2.2 already available... with the little details that need work... but, we have it NOW. So I'm sure that XDA will have 2.2 fully functional way before HTC/Sprint releases an official update so there is no need to even wait for them to do a stock upgrade/update and lose root.
