I really dont think l'll have a prob with it getting lost or stolen..Never had that prob before (knock on wood) I switched from Verizon an had a Blackberry an the screen cracked went to the store they couldnt fix it... it was 90 bucks going through Asurion to get it fixed FOrgetthat i wont go through that again!
You only pay $100 deductible on Sprint if there is water damage or physic damage to the phone. If it just stops working there is no deductible and its replaced in a day and who said best buy gets a new one to you. I've head some not so good things of people who actually had to redeem their bb coverage.

The way BTP works is that the phone is sent to service for about a month. If the service center determines that the damage to the unit is too much (to the point that labor + parts exceeds the value of the phone), then a in-store replacement is authorized and you get a new phone. Since BTP is a monthly paid service (instead of a one-time charge), it carries over to the new device unless you decide to cancel.

BBM can arrange a loaner for you provided that you are willing to pay deposit on it and BBM managers might make an exception for you and exchange the phone altogether in store but this rarely happens, especially if the device has never gone to service before.

Re: Sprint insurance vs bestbuy insurance?

After reading all of this and other things at Best Buy forums, I called and cancelled my Best Buy insurance today. I don't know why I let the guy talk me into it. It was 10am, I had just woke up, and wasn't thinking clearly. $240 vs $168 over a period of two years. Oh but no deductible with Best Buy. Big deal, it's like having liability vs full coverage. I never did understand how some people said their insurance covers loss but not water damage. Oops I dropped it in the toilet. Just tell Sprint you lost it. The deductible doesn't change. Here are a few things I've read about Best Buy:

http://forums.bestbuy.com/t5/Manufac...UCKS/m-p/45164

http://www.forums.bestbuy.com/t5/Bes...licy/m-p/14621

http://forums.bestbuy.com/t5/Manufac...money/m-p/9761

Notice how someone from Best Buy always shows up and basically says, "I'm sorry to hear that and that really sucks, but there's nothing we can do about it." I'm so glad I decided to research this and I got TEP put back on my plan. Thankfully I didn't stick with BB long enough to have to make a claim. Personally I don't care about the deductible because in the 8+ years I've been with Sprint, I've had to make a claim maybe twice. I hope some of this helps!

With that now being said i will say thank you haha Damn i didnt know it was like that with BB's Protection plan...On paper it sounds nice but if i have to go through the hassle that the people on the fourms had to go through its not worth it at all... SO if i have to spend 150 on a deductible at least i know im getting my phone back in 2-3 business days.... AN ive had to make a claim about the same amount of times so i hope i can keep that up. I'll just try an protect this phone like Fort Knox so nothing goes wrong with it.

Thanks for this info!

Re: Sprint insurance vs bestbuy insurance?

Now if you have a BB with BBY ins on it they will swap it out in store same day no matter what. One of the phones on my acct the only BB infact was run over in a puddle of water and swaped out to a newer model at no charge.
