I would say you would have to rely on availability of the replacement. Plus there may be alot more sipulations with Best Buys insurance, IE. Water damage may not be covered whereas sprints TEP will replace it no matter the reason.

Re: Sprint insurance vs bestbuy insurance?

Sprint should be $100 deductible did they change it to $150. One thing to consider is Sprint's insurance covers loss, and theft, Best Buy's does not.

Re: Sprint insurance vs bestbuy insurance?

I only paid $100 when I lost my TP2. I get Sprint insurance because it typically nets me free upgrades.

Re: Sprint insurance vs bestbuy insurance?

BTW Sprint's insurance is more than just insurance, they will handle all your warranty claims in store for you too. And if they have to get you a new phone they just order a new/refurb phone and have it for you within 1-2 business days with Best buy they mail it in to their "repair" center and make you wait.

Re: Sprint insurance vs bestbuy insurance?

If I'm not mistaken, Best Buy's doesn't carry over to another phone like Sprint's does. If you get a new phone and you don't buy it from Best Buy, I don't think it will carry over to the new one. Sprint's will carry over to whatever phone you have on your account.

Yes and even better if you buy the phone used (as long as the esn isnt locked out) your insurance will cover that as well.

There are benefits/cons to both. It seems as if you have a grudge against BestBuy, I have bought their plans on a number of things and it has saved me. Example: Dropping a digital camera, laptop, etc.

Pros/Cons For example....

One of the BestBuy Pros is: if your phone breaks, they give you a new one vs. giving you a refurb as insurance usually does. And I can tell you from experience that refurbs are usually lower quality.

However the biggest con I see is: if you loose your phone, Best Buy's plan does not cover that, Sprint's does.
And I can tell you from experience, that loosing your phone or having it stolen is a common occurrence, especially with a highly desired phone.
