Re: Evo Rooting HBoot 0.76.2000 (PC3610000)
MAKE SURE .. you do a Amon 1.8 nand backup. Not a Clockwork.
Why? The ever important RSA keys are backed up by Amon only. It takes an image of the wimax radio. I borked my RSA keys and had to get my phone replaced... there is no fix when the RSA keys are gone. WiMax will never work again. |

Re: EVERYTHING EVO - Rooting | NAND | Flashing Roms | Wipe
We can back up the rsa keys now
Good way to backup WiMax RSA keys. Works before Rooting, and on stock OEM Roms. - xda-developers

Re: EVERYTHING EVO - Rooting | NAND | Flashing Roms | Wipe
I am newly converted to the EVO, from a TP2, which I had unlocked and flashed.
The directions on which steps to follow reference having HBOOT version 2.02 or not having 2.02. However, I suspect that what it's really saying is 2.02 vs prior/lower than 2.02. I have HBOOT 2.10. Do I follow the 2.02 instructions?

newbie looking to learn...(root issues)
Okay, so I got this evo like less than a week ago. Before I got it I read that I can get WiFi tethering for free through rooting the phone. so I read more about it and it reminded me of the days of custom firmware on my psp and jailbreaking my ipod touch... but like all new things I know nothing about it. I read through the huge sticky about rooting and flashing and all and I was left saying "huh?"
I saw a guy on YouTube , he had a guide on rooting using unrevoked3. I followed it and was left empty handed, mid way through when the phone was supposed to reboot into recovery for the second time it just rebooted... I know messing with stuff like hat is dangerous so I decided to ask someone how I can fully root my evo and not make it a very expensive paperweight... hence my being here... Sorry for the long post, and I know I am a newbie when it comes to the inner workings of Android, but if someone decides to assist me It would be greatly appreciated.... |
