Re: Any kid soul feel like helping me root my evo?>>

do you have a mac or a PC....its very easy on a mac

on a PC you must uninstall the drivers...the easiest way is to do it on your friends mac.... it ususually takes two tries with unrevoked, and make sure if you get to the screen on your EVO where you are supposed to select HBOOT, make sure you select the one that is near the bottom, not the one at the top... (if you are looking at it, you will see what I mean.)

Re: Any kid soul feel like helping me root my evo?>>

the first thing to do is to identify which phone you have.
Do a power down and go into HBoot and read the version. You get there by powering down and then hold down the vol down key and pressing the power button once.

That will tell you(and us) which route to go.
Report back at that point.

Thanks for this. I screwed up my last phone trying to root. This was just what I need and I was able to root succesfully.

eta: i just realized the files are not complete, so trying again....
I think you had the same problem that I did when I tried to do this the first time a few days ago. Make sure you have the full downloaded files -- check the MD5 hashes, make sure the large .zip files are about 175MB in size. I got partial downloads that don't work and have these symptoms where you won't get the update option.

Hope this helps.

Question How do I flash one ROM over another?

I'm sure it's very simple. Here's my scenario:

I'm currently on Cyanogen 6.1.
I just downloaded Warm TwoPointTwo.
Um...now what? lol

Do I lose all my apps I've downloaded? Is there an easy way to back them up without having to manually copy/move each one to the SD Card?

Thanks in advance guys!

Re: How do I flash one ROM over another?

Uh ok, first you can back everything up or choose what you want backed up using titanium backup and as far as flashing the rom its the same process as flashing any rom, just boot into recovery and go from there. You did flash your current rom yourself didn't you?

haha, funny guy you.

Yeah I did flash it the first time.

I just went into recovery (took me to clockwork), wiped cache and data factory blah blah, then flashed zip from SD (warm 2.2) and it loaded up cyanogen again, what the heck!
