For now, Sprint owns you and your phone. You cannot root the latest OTA. Eventually, hopefully, someone will find a way, but for now you're stuck. There is no way to reverse it. There is no way to undo it.

One touch Root :(
My friend came by to show me his iphone 4 and showed me his one touch jail break and was a little jelous. I then read about the new samsung phones and Droid x having the one touch root. This would be so nice to have on the evos. I so wish i knew more about Android to help!

Show your friend with the iphone how you can hold the phone anyway during call without dropping call.

Re: One touch Root :(
Show him everything your phone can do without having the need to root... (BTW, You DO NOT need administrator rights on your Windows PC to have it do just about everything it does, same applies on android phones)
"Lock down" on an Android phone is like being put in Australia (penal colony) compared to an iPhone in an altoids box, in the trunk of a car, in an underground garage, in an unknown building somewhere in Bangladesh.. Besides, you have a kickstand... ok ok so he can lean the iPhone up against his AT&T bills to get the same result.. -CC

re: EVERYTHING EVO - Rooting | NAND | Flashing Roms | Wipe
SO I am confused...do I start here? Because that will be on step 5...or do I start at step 1? Or is it just saying that step is only needed if after ota 1.47.651.1??
((((******** ROOTING AFTER OTA 1.47.651.1 (Full Root)******** Thanks to SteelH This is for Full Root access after someone has applied the OTA 1.47.651.1. If you accepted the OTA or it was done for you when you bought your phone, use this guide. To check which version you're on, go to Menu>Settings>About Phone>Software Information>Software Number. If it says "1.47.651.1" this section is for you. If you're on version "1.32.651.1" or "1.32.651.6" then use the ****ROOTING Part I and Part II (Full Root)**** instructions in section 1 & 2.)))) since I have 1.47.651.1 at step 5?? Or do I start at step 1?? Kinda confusing where it is placed "Rooting after 1.47.651.1 etc, etc....

Re: One touch Root :(
One click root was really easy and great on my droid x - my evo was a lot more challenging and I have only half done it with toast because I have the evo working great for me and don't want to mess it up.
