Other than uninstalling everything related to the phone (HTC Sync and drivers) and starting over, I don't know.
What version of windows are you on? Also, you may try doing a factory reset on your phone before starting anything.

Have you tried section 5 from this tutorial? At least then if you have a problem, you can list what step you were on when you had a problem. Otherwise, you can try what I told Jspecrx7.

Saying is doesn't work w/o giving specific's is like telling your doctor, something isn't right, can I have some medicine?

Do a nandroid backup before you flash a custom rom. The rooting process will basically root your phone rom while you're running the Sprint rom. After it's rooted, do a nandroid backup. Then just to be extra safe, copy the nandroid backup folder from your sdcard onto your pc. That way you can't lose your original backup file. Then you can start trying out different custom roms.

I haven't had issues trying to unroot the phone, but others have. However, ultimately, they do get back to stock if they need it.

Yes, make sure you follow section 5.
Make sure you have the correct files on your phone and that your phone can connect to the pc.
Make sure you read each step and that you get the same results as you go through each step.

It's actually pretty easy, just a little intimidating the 1st time, but it really is a simple process.

Most likely you are using the wrong file/steps.
If you are on the latest software 1.47 you need to start with Step 5 Rooting after OTA 1.47.
Let us know if that's not it.

What up! im rooted and have now a custom rom! your guide was awesome. that tricky part while it boots up, i got it the first try. hehehe thanks for all your input! and your dedication in this! very helpful. so u r on the OMJ? how is that one? im going to try some others out there soon.

so everytime we flash to a new rom we have to redownload all apps again? i herd something about titainum something. what does that do? well thanks again! i will stick around awhile longer.

If Titanium backup isnt in the ROM you are on you can DL it from Market. It has a whole host of settings that it backs up including your apps.
You can also flash your data.img (See OMJ's thread Post #2) from your nand back up. I would only do this though for staying within the same ROM and if the next verison is a small update.

no i know that the titanium thing is not a ROM itself. I seen somewhere in this thread it was like to pick data from another backup. or something like that. do you know where in the xda or even here where they keep up with all the ROM updates? I know OMJ is here. but, the others some of them threads are hard to keep up on. thanks!
