Re: EVO Full Root|Recovery|Nand Backup/Restore|Flashing for n00b's Instructions & Vid
1) You unzip the flash_image and the mtd-eng on your PC and put the files, not the folders on your card.
ok so i unzip them and put the actual files on the card and not just the lil stack of books? Last edited by 93mustang; 06-20-2010 at 08:54 PM. Reason: did it wrong |

root (you already did that with those steps-right, NOT unrevoked?)/recovery/Nand backup/Unlock Nand. If you do a nand backup then you are already in Recovery and once that is completed you can just pick up the steps from there. |

Re: EVO Full Root|Recovery|Nand Backup/Restore|Flashing for n00b's Instructions & Vid
Been gone for a day or so, but I think Im done. I never got the NAND backup to work. So when I flashed the ENG build, I guess I lost the custom ROM. But I have fullroot(get the yellow screen) and wifi tether. Thats all I really need. Thank you guys SOOOOO much.

) FLASHING ENG BUILD: - hold volume down + power to boot into hboot - it should now find and verify the PC36IMG.zip on the root of your sdcard. itll show a blue status bar on the top right of the screen. - after a minute or so it will ask u if u wanna flash SAY YES - after it flashes the PC36IMG.zip it will ask if you wanna reboot. SAY YES - once booted into Android put the recovery.img linked above on the root of you sdcard ************************************************** ******** So that part went ok? And then you go to this and you can skip the HTC Sync like I've said: Connect the phone to the pc using HTC Sync, open a "run" window by hitting the Windows key + "R" in the command line type (or cut/paste) Code: c:\evo-recovery\adb-windows shell then hit "OK" In the window that opens, type: Code: cat /sdcard/flash_image > /data/flash_image chmod 755 /data/flash_image /data/flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img reboot recovery ************************************************** ******** Again, code is written one line at a time-verbatim? Could you post the exact error your getting? |
