if you preordered a phone the store will get that phone. your order sheet is your claim ticket (most stores, i took names / numbers and will require ID for pickup - you need that for activation anyways)

the company knew how many phones they were getting from HTC/sprint. once first wave preorders were close to this #, they cut off first round and allocation to stores will be based on the # of preorders. so if you ordered a phone, it will be sent to your store for launch. same process for 2nd wave. some stores with LOTS of preorders are setting appointments, if a store thinks it can handle the traffic without appts, then they are not going to / don't have to make appointments. my store is booked all day. its gonna be like christmas!!! i am excited. big time! good luck to everyone and ENJOY YOUR NEW PHONE!

The problem I've been seeing in this thread is that no one person is right. Some stores are doing things differently than others.

I stopped by BB today, and their Sprint Rep just happened to be there. She said that, at my store, they're only doing the 1st wave of pre-orders, and are getting a few extras for walk-ins. Honestly, that kinda pisses me off. I pre-ordered for a reason...and I would think that any extras would go to those who are at the front of the list for the 2nd shipment. It's ridiculous that I have to camp out all morning on the 4th even though I pre-ordered.

The rep was cool, and so were the associates. It's just a garbage way of doing things if you ask me.

at my store i am rolling any extra devices to the 2nd wave preorders as are most stores in our disctrict. the people who line up will be offered a preorder for next wave of shipment.

THIS is how things SHOULD be done. Telling someone who pre-ordered the EVO that people coming in off the street can just walk in and get one before him/her is nonsense. I mean, it's just bad business in my opinion. Damn, now I'm actually REALLY pissed off about the fact that I have to get up at like 6am and camp out this Friday. I shouldn't have to do that.

So, do they just let each BB do whatever they want? ...because, like I said, not all BBs are planning on doing the same thing.

Yea they are somewhat organized... I called them again to see when they're going to start calling those that pre-ordered and all they said was sometime this week. Ill probably end up being there when the door opens

i also want to be sure a 1st wave preorder doesn't get a phone that is DOA and not have a replacement for them.

i agree that all BBYM should be the same - hard to do when there are over 1100 stores... my district is pretty much all doing the same thing.

you may want to talk to the BBY Mobile manager and run the idea by him. tell the south central texas is doing it that way and they lead the country in EVO preorders

i just found out my best buy opens at 10 not 9 on friday. can someone make a cab that turns the clock back an hour for all the employees who work there.

Best Buy called me the other day and my time is 7:30am on the 4th. She asked if I could come in before the store opened. I said does a bear **** in the woods hahahaha

She said I was the 1st one, so i cant wait.

Didn't even know they were still doing pre orders but I stopped by my local best but and they told me I could pre order for the second wave on the 9th. They said all extra will be given to the second wave pre orders and they were going to start calling people on the 3rd if they have any left over. I went to Radioshack and they said pre orders were over but they'll have extra and I could just come in when they open and I'll get one. I gave best buy my $50 to ensure that I will get one either way. I hope they call me on the third though or I'll be at the shack, don't know if I'll make it to the ninth! I'll just have to get all my accessories at best buy.
