The BB I ordered mine from said they wont be setting appointments until they get their stock in.. I ordered mine on the 16th so I should be fine.

Well Best Buy finally called me.. I was #2 on the list and the guy said I pretty much had my choice in times to pick it up.. He said because I pre ordered I was guaranteed a phone.. The only issue I had was they do not open until 10am meaning I pretty much had to wait until after work to pick it up. So my appt is 5pm on Friday.. So I got possibly 8 hrs to watch all you guys pick yours up..

i just called my local best buy ( yonkers ny) and was told they are not doing appointments, not opening early and not pricematching sprints price! I guess i can forget the bluetooth headset rumor...
This store has to be the worst bestbuy on the planet anyone else preorder from there? what is bestbuys pricematching policy?

Their policy is that if it is in stock and you have proof of the price they HAVE to match it. However, it has to be in stock to show that you are a Best Buy Loyal Customer and not just trying to obtain an out of stock item.

If they tell you they dont have such a policy, print out the price matching policy on their webpage and demand to see a manager

Best Buy is known for trying to tell you they dont have a price matching policy... You just have to prove the item is in stock somewhere else which may be a problem if the item is sold out everywhere

there is a radio shack next door and a spint store 1/4 mile south. hopefully they got large shipments in.

So I called Best Buy yesterday and asked the rep : "Hey if I come in tomorrow, can I pre-order the EVO 4G even though it comes out on the 4th?"

The woman rep said "no problem, you can come in and pre-order it."

So, needing the money, but planning on getting it the day it came out on the 4th, I sold my Touch Pro2 and went up to Best Buy, only to be told every store was sold out of pre-orders and I would have to wait until the 10th.

So, now I'm phoneless. For ten days. And now I get my phone 6 days late.

the morale of this story being "a bird in the hand beats two in the bush", meaning you should've had the preorder in hand before selling your phone. I have a instinct I could sell you .
