none taken....the TP2 does a great job just the speed is not there, if it had the 1ghz it would be a prefect combo.

Re: Completely unbiased review of the Evo 4G.

This battery issue is odd because I have seen several reviews describing how they were shocked how well it did with pretty heavy use throughout most of a day... without charging. It almost seems like the Google I/O devices are different than the pre-release models sent to media reviewers directly.

I am sure hoping the real devices due out this Friday are running more efficiently, similar to the media review copies. I cannot see how it can be that bad considering that I have seen HD2 users doing great for 10-12 hour workdays making calls and using the phone for all kinds of activity.

No offense, but I hate when people say that. Of course smartphones consume a lot of power. I don't expect any device to last that long if you're using it heavily. But every smartphone I've had can last through the day from morning to night (at least 12 hrs) with moderate use. Moto Q, Q9C, Tilt, Diamond, TP2. Even people I know with the Droid and Nexus can do so. I know the EVO is a beast but am I expecting too much? 8am to 6pm nearly idling all day. I don't think that's too much to ask. In fact, I think settling for anything less is pretty ridiculous.

Is that with 3G or 4G?

I hope so too because I preordered a week ago . When you're in 4-5 hour territory every bit counts. There's so many situations where being away from the charger just a couple hours can be such a hassle or worse.

Re: Completely unbiased review of the Evo 4G.

im betting that the difference also has to do with user's settings. screen brightness has a huge impact on battery as well as internet connectivity, bluetooth, wifi, and call time. i hope we get something along the lines of nue's tools that i worked wonderfully on my mogul. i could make it so that if my screen was off, it would underclock the processor to 19 mhz. i could also make it lower the clock based on idle time or when the screen dims. it helped my battery life tremendously. is there any sort of app for rooted phones that achieves this?

Re: Completely unbiased review of the Evo 4G.

I really dont see why its a bad thing to have an extra battery for times when you dont have access to a charger.

and using ATK, and with Froyo, this is pretty much a non issue. Batteries are like 6 to 12 buck on ebay with a separate battery wall charger included. lol

People just like to hate/complain/address issues. Real intelligence lies with those who adapt and solve them. I use my phone so much I always have an extra battery on me and I am running a TP2 w/ WinMO6.5, until Friday. So I already have the batteries waiting for me. Also bought adapters for my current mini usb to be micro usb so I dont have to buy extra chargers. I grew up in the 80's with mom owning several cell phone stores when bag phones cost 2500 dollars. I have been around these things my whole life and acknowledge you always need a way to charge it, or have the batteries on you. The power issue is always going to be a design fail since they just dont properly make phones now that have batteries capable of running them long enough to accommodate our daily lives. And dont care. Accessories are a business in themselves. If battery issue is the biggest problem, then I am truly reaffirmed as to why my BB pre-order was a such a great idea.
