Is it possible that they were sending out corrected Diamonds by that time? Or am I just lucky? My treo got at least this hot if not hotter just on a phone call.

I got mine on the 6th and im kinda the same as you, though very rarely it gets unusually warmer, usually when talking on the phone. but my battery life is about a day and a half on a charge with moderate use so no real complaints.

Re: Diamond Complaints

Scidmail i received mine a few days after yours and i have the heating issues. It could be certain batches . But my understanding is there is a heating plate that provided a fix for the unit

Do you find that you have poorer coverage when it's getting really hot? I've got a good connection where I am now.

Re: Diamond Complaints

well, i just called sprint and clarified the heating and battery issue with them. the rep told me that i should just call HTC and tell them my problem. i was calm and very nice about the situation. i explained how unsatisfied i am with the unit, the battery, and the heat issue. he did say that i was over my 30 day return period and that there really wasn't much they could do for me! i threatened to cancel my account and go to att for the iphone. the guy really didn't seem to buge one bit and said that sprint really couldn't do anything to resolve my issue since i was over the return period. i dont know what else to do. the only other option i have is to wait for the phone to appear at the sprint store. i have a friend who works there that told me i could just give her the phone and she would return it for me. what do you guys think? was i #$%@ed over or should i just wait for my friend to exchange my phone for me personally? i really thought i would have the luck that darren wsl.1 had

Re: Diamond Complaints

A few questions . Do you have insurance on the unit ? Was the unit purchased through sprint telesales? Also did you speak with retentions ?

the rep forwarding you to HTC does not do anything. Sprint gives you 1 year repair /replacement service if you have insurance . the units have a 1 year manufactures warranty so sprint just returns then back

this is why i stress we make these complaints early so they are aware of the situation.

Re: Diamond Complaints

lol, the lady I just talked to said the Pro isn't coming out for about 6 more months, I asked to talk to someone else and she said she was trying to help me.

long story short she "checked" with a few people and said for me to call back on the 2nd when its released and I can get the exchange for the pro.

i did order it through telesales and i do have the insurance, i have had sprint insurance well over 4 1/2 years. i spoke with tech support, i really don't call that often, so i figured tech support would have been the route to go.

Re: Diamond Complaints

Yeah tech support isn't really much help
. Speak to someone in sales . If they cant help you , then go to retentions and state your case. Calm and be truthful about the issues . Tell them you have been a loyal long time customer and your just not happy with teh phone and looking to recieve a replacement
