Re: Sprint Diamond New plan or original plan
People are continuing to post "But the Sprint rep I talked to said that it takes a new plan!" What Sprint said is not true.
Yesterday I called Retentions and was told that the Touch Diamond required a new plan (we have a great, old grandfathered plan). I told her that I have read in many internet forums that what she said is not true. That if you have a data plan it's OK. She still held her ground - a new plan is required. I told her to put me on hold and go check with someone. She came back and said "Well ... technically speaking it will work. You just can't do everything." Everyone in this thread seems to be uselessly debating whether the T-D requires a new plan or not -- it doesn't! No one has discussed a more important point -- what you _can't_ do with it if you keep your old plan. That's what is really important! Let's see if we can figure this out. That will help people decide whether they _want_ to keep their old plan or not. GPS with turn by turn directions. Not just GPS "here is where I am". Isn't that a $10/month feature? Not sure I need it though, I have a great GPS in the car. Video mail. I don't know if I would use this. What else is in the Simply Expensive/Everything Plan that is unlikely to be in grandfathered plans? |

Re: Sprint Diamond New plan or original plan
Notice on the site for the Diamond it States * Mail In Rebate Require an Everything Plan" So you do not have to change your plan unless you want the extra 100 off BUT is the 100 off for the phone honestly worth losing a plan that saves you 50.00 per month every month. AND if you have a special plan you are getting your employer discount say if you work for FORD motors you are getting a 25% discount BUT the Simply everything plan 99.99 you do not get a discount of any kind and discount are not stackable in any plan so you can not get 25 percent off from NVP and then get an extra say 5 percent off. NOT POSSIBLE.
The ONLY phone that requires a EVERYTHING PLAN , whether it be Simply, or TALK MESSAGE DATA 450, 900 or 1350 indiv. plans OR SHARE TMD plans is the INSTINCT. I hope this helps. |

Re: Sprint Diamond New plan or original plan
The everything plans include Premire TV and RADIO with GPS all unlimited with unlimited Text. Such as having the 30.00 Pro Pack. Also if you have a BBERRY the EVERYTHING plans are better for you because in the past BB ( RIM) required that stupid 39.99 BB plan which I think was stupid but yet you pay for your minutes then on top of that 39.99 and if people did not have to have the Black Berry server email support for their jobs then BB RIM made alot of money off you. Also the 39.99 plan did not include unlimited Text AND THIS HAD nothing to do with the carriers in the past because they all offered the same 39.99 plan. But hey now 69.99 for Everything 450 BB plan includes everything you need except BB teather and server support.

Re: Sprint Diamond New plan or original plan
Don't you all think that carriers should give loyal customers better discounts than new customers for their loyalty? I don't know about you, but it almost feels like a slap in the face when seeing that a new customer gets a better deal than some of us who have been with a carrier for years and haven't even been tied to a new contract for a long while...

Re: Sprint Diamond New plan or original plan
i just ordered mine today. the stores don't have it yet so i called *2 to order the phone.
the best deal they could offer me was (bull****) 150 dollar credit, 100 dollar mail in rebate, and 50 off my bill right now. I tried to talk the rep to give me a higher discount for my 3 years of being a customer, but they could not. the rep told me his supervisor looked at my account and tried to apply another credit, but since i am on an employee sero plan only 1 service credit could be applied. the rep was about to foward me to the employee plan department to talk to them to add another service credit since he could not, but i declined and just took his offer. final price 249.95 then 50 off my bill free priority shipping (1-2 day air) the 150 dollar credit is bull****, and it only matches NEW customer's retail price. After talking to 2 rep's basically there is NO incentive for me to stay with sprint other than keeping my plan, according to the rep. Which is why she offered me 50 dollars off my bill. so final price after rebate mailed and returned will be 200 dollars and 95 cents. i have a 1,250sero plan and did not have to change my plan. the plan already includes unlimited internet and text there is nothing more to purchase. Re: Sprint Diamond New plan or original plan
OK first off, the SEPs are NOT required on this device. MANY people have gotten the phone without changing plans. This was not possible at all on the instinct as it would pop up a screen to force the rep to change the plan when you ordered your device. Some reps are misinformed. That is all.

1) Some Sprint TV channels (you can add this if you really want it - price depends on how many channels you want) 2) Sprint's navigation program (you can get other programs that do the same thing without a monthly fee or add it for $10/mo I think there is a trial and a way to pay for a day's use of it too) That's all. Re: Sprint Diamond New plan or original plan
What was it you were hoping to pay? $100 for a $549 device? LOL. Not to mention, you have an awesome plan as it is. At least you are fortunate enough to be able to appease your own cravings for expensive toys. So, stop your damn whining and start counting your blessings for a change!
