Re: Sprint Diamond New plan or original plan
Quote:
You do not have to change your plan to get the Diamond. The rep(s) you spoke to are mistaken. Talk to their supervisor or better yet call *2, say cancel to the stupid computer asking what you are calling for, and then talk to someone in retentions... be nice. Don't even ask them about your plan... just tell them you want to get a new phone without changing anything else. Leave it at that. |

Re: Sprint Diamond New plan or original plan
agreed. any info that people can share out there about their plan with the Diamond is appreciated.
I just chatted with Sales and they, without surprise, say it is a "new requirement" that any new PDA smartphone have an Everything Plan. |

Re: Sprint Diamond New plan or original plan
I was already on the SEP450, but out of contract. Had to go for 2 years to get the $249 price on the Diamond.

Re: Sprint Diamond New plan or original plan
It's not a new requirement, you are just getting sh!tty reps which is very common with sprint. In order to get all the rebates you have to have a plan that includes data over a certain value. ($35/mo or more I think)... Everything plan is one of those sorts of plans and they are really trying to push people into the Everything plans but they aren't a requirement. Sure reps might try and tell you it is required because they think they can get a bonus off of you switching to a new plan.
Talk to Retentions. They are a different department staffed by people in Canada and the USA. They are, for the most part, very well spoken and very helpful. Call *2 from your phone and say "cancel" to the automated computer asking why you are calling. You will be transferred to the retentions department. Be nice to them. They are there to help you. In order to get the $249 price on the Diamond you have to: A> have a plan that has data in it valued over $35 per month (just the plan cost alone, not addons. If you have data as an addon just tell them that it is grandfathered in that way.) B> sign a new 2 year agreement having had your old device for at least 22 months. C> possibly file some rebate paperwork to bring the final cost down to $249 once you receive your rebate check. Sometimes you can get the rebate up front otherwise it will be by mail...just depends on the rep and what they can do and what they are willing to do for you. Don't talk to sales..they are there to SELL you stuff that you don't need or want. eCare (the email contact us option after you sign into your account online) and Retentions are the two best ways to deal with them. |

Re: Sprint Diamond New plan or original plan
If you look at the Mail-in Certificate it even says in the qualify section, "You may be required to activate on a service plan of $34.99 or higher ($34.99 is base monthly plan price and does not include fees for add-on features and services.) Taxes excluded. Everything Plus Referral Program Customers required to activate on a service plan of $29.99 or higher. Taxes excluded."
Based on this statement and assuming the Everything Plus Referral Program = SERO, you should be able to keep the 29.99 SERO plan and receive the Mail-in rebate. |

Re: Sprint Diamond New plan or original plan
I am getting a diamond shipped to me as we speak, be it as it may it's an insurance replacement. But, I am out of contract and am not changing my plan. All you need to do is talk to a supervisor, and or retentions and you'll be all good. I am not the type to take things easily, and neither should u be when dealing with them. I would highly suggest using honey instead of vinegar to get them to do what u want though, cause being nasty and tudeish, isn't likely to get you as far.
