Re: Touch pro 7 (touch pro 3 but rename) EPIC FAIL

I see people complaining about the lack of 4G and I must confess that at first blush I tend to agree with them. However, my wife has made the jump to the Epic and I'm less than impressed with 4G. When it comes to speed of downloading things on the phone, I really don't see much of a difference because of the latency with 4G turning itself on and off to conserve battery life. Even when you're tethering, I don't notice much of a difference unless you're streaming or doing BitTorrent...and 4G seems to really sap your battery much more so than 3G.
While I wouldn't go so far as to say it's a good thing that 7Pro doesn't have 4G, I don't think it's too big of a loss, especially if Sprint does what they said and doesn't charge you an extra $10 a month - they said the $10 is for 4G service, so I hope they don't renege and decide it's for any smartphone.

Re: Touch pro 7 (touch pro 3 but rename) EPIC FAIL

i know how bad gizmodo can get. it seems that engadget is knitpicking things about the new WP7 phones too ZDNet gave those phones a better rating as did Cnet.

Mobilitysite unfortunately is startin to get bad too, they have hardly any articles about WP7 and when there is theyre critical. its a shame as ive been a member there since 06.

For tethering, there is an issue with the tethering apps...if you do a speed test on the phone and then on the laptop tethered you will notice a HUGE difference.

Wait..your judging the sites based on how they treat WP7?

Also cnet gave similar ratings to engadget.

So you know, when Android, iOS, winmo and all other os first came out they were sub par...platforms take time to mature..same can be said for WP7...considering the ratings it got so far I'd say they have been generous.

im judging based on how they treat anything mobile that has to do with MS they even give the win7 tablets bad ratings, and they always take shots at WM knowing that it was always meant to be a computer in ur pocket in which it does a great job at being. i can do 90% of what i do on my pc on my TP2 with the 6.1 stock rom. pinches tipejos tarados!

So Win Phone 7 is being launched on outdated hardware and someone says reviewers are biased for calling them on it? LOL

Re: Touch pro 7 (touch pro 3 but rename) EPIC FAIL

Look... WP7 is being launched on minimum requirement hardware as set up by Microsoft... WP7 is not responsible for hardware put out... Microsoft said... This is the minimum... The manufacturers decided to put the minimum requirements in their handsets.
With WP7 being a new OS and all... I can't say that I blame them.
I also don't see too many handsets out there with the dual core 1.5 or 1.3 hummingbird processors yet.
This is tru tried and tested chipset and we will surely see upgrades friom the manufacturers once the phone begins to sell. Then I along with several others will surely upgrade our phones again. And so on and so forth.
That's just how things go.

I dont know...I find it strange that all the manufacturers are relasing at the minimum..if I were a manufacturer Id make 1 phone with better features just to outstage the rest..mostly since M$ is currently limiting variety..unless..at the moment only the 1st gen snapdragon is certified for use.

That I would believe... But... Althoug I don't believe it... Specialists ane experts are predicting a failure... So if you are creating a new phone for a FAILING OS... Why would you spend new money. You probably already have the processors and or you can get them for much less than you can a new one.
Besides... I think the price point is also being looked at... Who would buy a 500.00 phone? This OS is being aimed at gamers and nerds. Not the rich.
So it makes sense to keep the costs down.

Well as I said before..things are not in its favor...but its not impossible...that said..it makes sense for at least 1 manufacturer to make a better featured phone...as M$ will most likely throw in a lot of advertising...even if it fails they can get some initial sales..and standing out is what makes that happen.

Re: Touch pro 7 (touch pro 3 but rename) EPIC FAIL

I agree... Some have tried setting themselves appart a little.
The Samsung with it's beautiful screen and slim profile comes to mind.
But all the others are pretty similar.
I just want to see it happen. Whatever it is...
