vx6700 turns on by itself

I've searched many forums for an answer to this but never really found anything solid.
First off, this is my second 6700. I had the problem with both phones. Also I've been through all the stock ROMS and most of the custom ones. Currently running Kitchen 1.0 (You guys rock. Sticking with this one.)

Here exactly what happens: If left off for say 5-15 minutes, the (today) screen will light up. No calls or messages come in. Wisbar shows no programs running. Then after the set powersave time left alone(3mins) it will turn itself off until the next time.
I don't notice it in my pocket so much except when I go to use it, sometimes it's already on waiting for me. At night while charging it gets annoying since it puts off just enough light to say "hey look at me. I'm on again for no reason."
The only advice I found was to create a dummy Activesync server and set the schedule to manual.
Did that.
Still happens.
