Thanks for the Phonealarm tip, but it sounds like a coverup rather than a fix.
It's no big issue really. I've been tweaking this phone for almost a year now and this issue is the one thing I've left to resolve.

You know how something is 99.99% perfect and there is that one little thing that would make it 100%....?
You can't just let it go when you're so close.
I have that problem time-to-time as well. It can be a pain.

Oh, and you are almost correct, for the Verizon version on the 6700, it is XV6700 rather than VX6700. You just flipped the X and V around.
