Ok, I found that the old rule appears to no longer apply.
I made a note on my post above to reflect this so no one goes on a wild goose chase.
However, it has been suggested lately to hard reset first, then put it into bootloader mode and start from there.

Seems like one of those problems that would best be figured out in person... Like one of those times where you see someone trying to do something before the computer fully boots up and complaining that it's not responding or stating it sometimes doesn't respond....then figuring out the "timing" issue.

Depending on setup -Weatherpanel can create a situation such as that, in which it will try to run before fully booted and then locks up. But that's not the case here.
I don't know, I'm out of clues...

Bought from Handango, V1.6 for the 6700 (they actually make you put in your specific model when you buy it).

I'm 100% sure the extended ROM is not loaded. Its about the only thing I am sure of at this point.

Just crashed it again. Was watching storage and program memory while running the VC.
Storage: Total 43.5MB, In use 2.04MB, Free 41.46MB
Program: Total 47.19, In use 20.32MB, Free 26.87MB

And a pop-up window: "Voice Command has quit due to low memory. Close running programs and try again". The only running programs are Active Sync and Voice Command (According to the Running Programs List). The phone is docked.

cabain: man I don't get it at all. I think I would try what was posted back in pg 26 about loading the must current utstarcom rom hard reset a couple times, and then try again on this one (also hard reseting a couple times). Or maybe even try a different one - I don't know. I have successfully used MSVC successfully on every rom I've tried, so I don't get hy this is happening to you. - sorry, and good luck!

I noticed that a new version of Wisbar Lite was released last night, and I'm wondering if we should expect a PR6 with this updated version included... I believe I read a post a couple days ago suggesting this.

For instance I did not get Adobe's pdf viewer in the rom as it was in multiple folders but xpdf ran from a flat folder and I was able to put it all in the windows folder.

Tiny ebook reader runs out of a single exe file.

Has anyone tried this yet? I'll be trying this later on today, but they don't mention anything about fixing the OK/Close button on this release (unless that's what they mean by removing the timer).

In case this doesn't work, have you thought of changing the bundled task manager in your PR6 ROM, Saridnour?

Only other I've used is SPB Pocket Plus, which has always worked well for me, but it is quite of a resource hog... I also also heard of a few good ones out there, but I myself haven't tried em (oh, except for MagicButton).

So far PR5 has worked great for me. Haven't had a single DSoD since upgrading early last week, except this time I didn't load anything from my Ext. ROM. Which I will investigate and do further testing with on your next release.

One suggestion. I might be the only one that feels this way, I don't know, but if you're going to bundle a trial game, can it be Bejeweled 2 instead? I feel like the original version's graphics feel outdated, like I'm playing it on my old LG phone (just with a much larger screen) from 4 years ago. Bejeweled 2 is best to show off the capabilites of our phone and it's still a great time killer... Of course, seeing how some people were seriously turned off by the updated graphics on Solitaire here, I might be the only that sees it this way...

Other than that everything else is working great on PR5, so I'm hoping PR6 is the same just with the few tweaks and new features.

I kept looking for Wisebar lite until 11pm pst. Must have just sneaked out after I last looked. I will get the new bits and get them into the sp1 and then get on the pr6 (which is together in source only). Maybe this weekend but I want to give it some time on my phone as there are a few things going into this rom (mostly reg entry changes) but need to verify that they are all indeed working (not to mention the reg errors in the sp1 betas) as the source for everything is different than the sp1 so in a way its starting over to a degree. I have no plans to switch from wisbar lite as I like the app. Its small, fast and does a lot. I actuly paid for wisbar advanced and never felt the need to use it. The not closing bug (part of the timer) is annoying but not enought to get me to switch so this is why I am so looking forward to the new release and hope it nails it

I have still not had a chance to look at readers. I don't even have any ebooks to test with.. so anyone that wants to send me the extracted bits and exported reg keys for it will most likely wind up with their choice of reader in the build! I would still need to run it up to verify, but since I don't use the readers I am really needing the help from you all here as you know what is good and what is not and what settings are ideal for the package (if any settings need to be set as default that is).

D1zzl3: Probably not going to be changing bejeweled at ths point as I just sort of tossed it in. I had run it from the SD card and figures since there was room in therom and they worked well together.. also this version has a little quirk in it that I will not mention but leave you all to figure out... Ill just leave it at "8". Just happened apon this on some site and it worked and so it stayed with me. Also I pulled the updated solitare graphics as it was easier to leave it out for those who didn't like it but those who do can just copy it back in so it sort of worked for everyone. Just to mention, I left it in on my reg private build as I liked it

cebain: I would really try the hard resets that was mentioned earlier, but also I would send me your exe at min. or the installer. Only way I can make sure what you are working with is what I have in the build. Without that we are guessing to a degree where verifing bits are absolute. I can also send you what I have to get you going if it is a retail vc 16 that you prove to have (again got to for legal reasons).
