Hi Christopher,

I have Alltel too, when you did your update did you let Alltel "stuff" install from the extended ROM or did you installed only certains cab from the Ext ROM.

Thanks

2) BT PAN does not work. I have also isolated the problem to this ROM (with the SP1 beta) in particular... other ROMs patched with the BT PAN fix work fine.

3) ClearType is enabled by default. Not recommended due to the massive performance hit.

I let the whole ExtROM install, and then removed the (junkware) Alltel Handango Store afterwards.

I know there is the potential that some CABs that might get in the way, but I haven't experienced any problems (other than Wisebar screwing things up).

P.S. I first upgraded the device to AKU 2.2 so that the radio and ExtROM were at the latest before going to AKU 3.5.

Thanks Christopher for the quick replay.

When I look at my device information I have the following:

ROM Version 2.11.20 WWE
ROM Date 04/04/06
Radio version 1.15.00
Protocol Version SNAZ-40306
ExtRom Version 2.11.711 WWE
PRL version 30005
PRI Version 1.06_011
Browser version MSIE 6.0

This is the first time I have look at this since I upgraded to 3.5 pr4. It confuse me a little to see ROM Version 2.11.20 is this looks okay.

Thanks

You're fine. Having Radio 1.15.00 means you have both the latest radio and ExtROM released to-date. The version numbers just weren't updated in this ROM to differentiate... weird, but not incorrect.

P.S. You should edit/remove the ESN from your post. ESN is personally-identifiable information and should never be needed for diagnosing an issue (except with a carrier technician of course).

You may also want to to get Sprint EV-DO Roaming for free... just download it to your device (or SD card) and then do ##PRL > Dial. Enter your MSL (000000) and browse to 40007.

I'd post the link to the PRL, but forum rules prevent me because I'm too new a member (something the administration of this site should strongly consider changing... it really discourages contributions of new information). Anyways, to get the PRL file, go to PhoneNews > Forums > Alltel and you should see a thread with the attachment there.

If you have any trouble updating the PRL, just post in the thread over there. It's a bit off-topic for this discussion anyways

It seems with PR5 I have to reset my device more to get the phone portion to work. I get can not connect or that type of error more with the new pr5. Works fine after a reset. I have updated all the prl stuff too.

Actually this was just added in to help put an end to some spam problems that have been cropping up lately. It does inconvenience the new valid user for a short time, which is a shame, but it also effectively prevents someone from signing up just to send out spam. This limitation will go away once you've been a member for a short time and made some valid posts. Thank you for your additional insight here. Keep it coming!

Updated Dialer Screen

In trying to see if I could get my phone to stabilize I decided to try this dialer with this 3.5. It wouldn't work with 3.4.

I love the larger buttons.

And all the smart dial features work too.
