you don't really need anything in the extended rom on verizon. But you'll have to set up the modem connection yourself for evdo data. Just use a phone number of #777 and leave the username and password blank (and when it asks for it again, still leave it blank, but check the remember button).

saridnour,

I noticed the same issue that bigray327 has. The Inbox link is missing on the Start Menu. I copied the poutlook.lnk from \windows to the \windows\start menu\ folder, but it won't launch the Inbox. The only way to launch it appears to be from the Today Screen. This is on pr5 SP1.

It's just useful to have on the Start Menu for one handed operation.

Thanks and I love the ROM!

I am not sure the ringer problem is fixed with the latest SP1....I just noticed that I don't have ANY ringers in my list to select from on the Phone settings screen....I have tried to reinstall SP1 a couple times in hope that it would fix the problem but no luck...As a temporary workaround, I downloaded some of the free ringers from microsoft and dumped them in the Windows\Rings directory....

I want my OldPhone ringer back

I can also report that I did get ONE hang after reset even after the MemMaid fix....So I am still not confident at all that the MemMaid fix is really a fix at all...I did a bunch of registry searching to try to find the keys that MemMaid might be modifying with no luck...I also did a bunch of google searching...and the closest thing I found was on SKTools page that also claimed to be able to order the startup tasks but it mentioned that it was device dependent without any additional details....

Thanks!

Tony

Messaging Link?

Has anybody found the missing link to start messaging. It seems missing from programs?

To fix messaging, do the following:
1- create a test file called "messaging"
2- Copy the following (less "") content into it (one line no return): "19#:MSINBOX"
3- save file.
4- copy to: \windows\start menu\programs

aughsum: Not usre what I can do with goodlink at this point. I have never used it and don;t have anyway to really test it let alone the resources to step back to old builds to work my way forward. I would definatly get the fix in if it was know but I probably will not have the oportunity to find the fix. But again, if you do hear of a fix and or know that someone has it working let me know and I will do my best to get it in.

schoenof: I wondered about that, but no one stated it wasn't working in the betas... I had it working in the test pr6 rom but that was not added via cab and after having all the issues with the same string type wit the bt pan I had a feeling.. Try this, edit the reg to match the following:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds]
"Ringtones"=multi_sz:"Mystic .wma","Terrestrial .wma","Jig .wma","Fantasy .wma","OldPhone .wma","",""
This should correct it. Also if possible, post what you have for that value as I am curious what the cab put in that field.
Also I looked at teh alternate DNS settings, but believe this will be an issue for adding to the ROM as the carrier provsioning cabs will likely overwrite any data I add. This would be good to add to an extended rom though, jsut run it after the carriers cabs.

If these work for any of you, let me know and I will upgdate the fixes section with these values.

Also wanted to note... I get mortplayer working and have the play\pause working from my headset and running at an audio quality of 80. It sounds Nice and I so love being able to pause form the headset again. Looks like I may take the better quaity settings and mort defaults as the os defaults for mp3 and mpx. It is that good. Don't worry, you can still reset them back if needed to WMP or TCPMP. But really, it is that good

I cannot get OpenDNS to work either. Do we know what cab installed stops me from changing and saving values. Maybe a registry setting?

When I change it and click finished nothing is saved.

openDNS works for me, even after soft resets... Now if you are using DHCP wireless this is different as some DHCP Authoritive servers can force DNS entries as I do to ensure user uses the right DNS server for local resolution.

Directly from OpenDNS

"Quite possible that Sprint makes it difficult.

I'd suggest seeing if you can duplicate your original settings, and
then modify the copy. That has worked for some folks in mobile
settings. Changing the original profile never seems to stick.

Thanks for choosing OpenDNS.

John"

followed the directions on the site. How did you do it?
