- When the phone came back, I clicked the GoodLink icon and it prompted me to "restore a backup y/n?"
- I said yes, entered my password (which was the same as my old one), and voila

You might try reflashing your phone to stock, installing GoodLink and getting that working, and then WM6'ing again ensuring your backup is on the card and not on the ROM.
Did you notice if your Serial Number changed in the same way as I saw? The only notable change from this procedure above is that I did let the Sprint customizations run, and ran the OTA GoodLink setup. I didn't realize that Goodlink was already installed as part of the ROM. That may make me more likely to try to reflash and try this again.

This is a result of an issue I posted about in the other thread.
Go into Bluetooth settings from your CommManager; Mode tab. Make sure that the box "Make the device visible to other devices" is checked off. I've found that mine will de-select itself after a profile change or soft reset. But not all the time.
Once you know about it, it's easy to fix. But note that this fix is NOT permanent. For some reason, the setting won't always "stick".

And I'm sure that it's an easy fix for the next version of the ROM.

OK, so it's odd to quote myself, but I played around with a second 6700 I have as a test device, and I noticed that if I allowed the Sprint customizations to run from the ExtROM, then the serial number that GoodLink would show during the OTASetup was an IMSI number, while if I aborted all of the Sprint customizations, then serial number would continue to show up as an ESN. So, that makes me wonder if it's worth trying again, given that others have made it work.

Anyone give me an idea why running the Sprint customizations would change the serial from an ESN to an IMSI, but ONLY when the customizations run? Seems that the ROM itself is great, as long as I don't let the customization routines execute.

I running the ROM update now. Crossing my fingers and hoping for luck as similar XV6700 users have reported.

Thanks Hem, expect a donation from me also.

BTW, although I'm a tech geek, I know nothing when it comes to mobile software programing. What is a kitchen and what are the benefits?

Thumbs up Too Cool for School !

! ! ! I LOVE MY PHONE AGAIN ! ! !

Yesterday I did the flash, Installed OneBridge (my companies email/calendar/contact sync program), Upgraded to VC 1.6 from 1.5 (Handango only charged me $10 for the upgrade) and installed Luve2Chill's button 5 fix.

After playing with it most of the day, I only saw one issue: It prompted me to close an app due to low memory. Then the screen went totally blank. Rebooted and all was well. Again, I had spent all day hacking and playing with everything from Wifi to BT to the camera, so I'm going to assume it was self inflicted.

Some questions:

1. Is there a way to remove the "Extended_ROM2" directory after its been emptied out?

2. Is there anyway to customize the HTC Home screen? The two buttons that tell me that I have email (left) and text (center) don't always take me to the appropriate messaging box. I believe in both cases it just takes me to the last visited mailbox. I would one to always take me to email and the other to always take me to texts. Can this be set up some how?

3. Has anyone hacked the Verizon GPS code? Its a shame we all have these cool devices that obviously have a GPS receiver on board, but still have to either pay Verizon or connect to an external GPS. Any tips or hacks here worth looking at?

Yes, that seems to have made the difference. For future Sprint Goodlink users, you should perform a soft reset when your device prompts you for an autmatic install of Sprint programs. If you do that, then you will retain a ESN number.
I did a fresh install of goodlink and used the procedures described a page ago by PDUBS for eveything else. The key was not letting sprint install junk on my phone. I am off to enjoy my new WM6 phone.

PIE browsing

The install worked great and took about 10 minutes to perform. I tested everything and things look great. The only problem that I'm having so far is with PIE. When I browse the internet the phone freezes. Maybe its the site that I'm going to. I tried browsing to G@@gle and the page loaded fine, the problem was when I tried to load Y@uTube's page.

Other than that I have no other issues to report.
