Perhaps you should search before you post. This has been discussed at length.

Verizon user here. I flashed my 6700 last week, and it has worked flawlessly since then. I did the soft boot when the verizon customizations wanted to run. I can reply to text messages with no problems. I appreciate all of the hard work put in to this upgrade, and all of you who take the time to post your solutions to problems!

WM6 Returns automatically Today Screen after coming out of standby no matter what.

Is there a setting that prevents my XV6700 from returning to the Today screen whenever I turn it back on? (I don't mean after it's been totally off, just after the display's been off(standby) ).It happends even if i just press the power-up button on and off, it goes to the today screen. I'm sure it did not happen with the wm5. Before the upgrade it used to stay on whatever program I was running, Unless it was longer then the time I had setup on the the "Today Screen Timeout" time.

Yes. Soft reset as soon as you see the "Customizing in 3..2..1" prompt.

May I ask why? What exactly are the carriers installing at this step?

Here's a thread that explains what is included in the carrier extended ROM:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=3660

The reason for bypassing the customizations is that the WM6 ROM comes with all of the customizations built right in. If you let the customizations run after flashing WM6, you'll end up with an unstable phone at best.

Very cool site!

I just upgraded using PPCGeeks' Kitchen by BigJ with no changes to the default setting for Verizon phones. I'm playing an audio book off a storage card, but media player does not continue to play the next track, it just stops when the track is done.

Could someone help?
