Thanks well kinda
First of all this installation was pretty easy to do, and I upgraded my friend within ten minutes of mine.
Its been 24hrs since my upgrade and my phone has locked up twice when while restarting. I have had to reinstall both times. My friend however has had no problems. I will let ou knw how it goes from here. |

Just an FYI. I have a Verizon xv6700 with the 1.02 bootloader. I run Vista Ultimate 32 bit. Like a couple people before mentioned, the download that says it is for the 1.02 bootloader kicked a 150 error, but the other download seems to have worked (so far). When the software tries to gather information from your device in the installation it doesn't report anything. I ignored that and pressed on with my fingers crossed. Device was finicky when I set a password, but I have hard reset it and will not specify this time...

xv6700 wifi issues
I am aware of the wifi issues that have been discussed with the 3.5 upgrade- My problem is that while I can connect to WEP and the arrows lock, any attempt to surf automatically brings up the wireless dialer "777" and so it clearly is not working- I haven't tried an open network and cannot connect at all to more secure networks (like my home)-
Any other 6700 users having a similar issue? |

- GoodLink backup to the SD card - Did the unrar/exe/bootloader/ROM install process - Soft reset before the Sprint customizations hit - When the phone came back, I clicked the GoodLink icon and it prompted me to "restore a backup y/n?" - I said yes, entered my password (which was the same as my old one), and voila You might try reflashing your phone to stock, installing GoodLink and getting that working, and then WM6'ing again ensuring your backup is on the card and not on the ROM. |

All this being said, I'm not SURE that the IMSI vs ESN has anything to do with it at all, BUT it's different, and even though I had a brand new GL PIN to reactivate, it didn't work. The clean install stated that my carrier wasn't supported (wrong, since it worked earlier). My second attempt was to perform a GLRestore from a backup, which hung at the "downloading services" prompt (again, not surprising, since my Serial number changed between the backup and the time I did the restore). I'm not 100% sure on how all the GL interaction happens, but it seems that it's got to be related somehow. I'm curious why the Serial would switch from an ESN to IMSI (I've heard rumblings that it's a CDMA vs GSM thing?) I've not had the chance to try again, and travel for work may keep me from doing so for a couple more weeks. I can't have the phone sorta funkified and not getting email while I'm on the road... *sigh* |
