Re: Apache WM6.1 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.19716 (Build 19716.1.0.0) - UPDATED 20080308

I just want to say that I flashed a new ROM yesterday and one of the items I'm extremely pleased with is the new iPhone dialer [iPhone Dialer (CDMA)].
It looks great, works beautifully (including ## codes) and might just help me keep this device until I can get a Diamond/TouchPro.

Re: Apache WM6.1 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.19716 (Build 19716.1.0.0) - UPDATED 20080308

Hi,

I have a VZW 6700. I see on the first page that there is a sprint Logo. Do I need to do anything special to make my VZW 6700 Apache work with this custom rom?

I am more looking for a prebuilt rom to flash than making my own. Is there a 6.1 solution for me?

Thanks,
Rich

This is a kitchen... used to build your own custom ROM (you really should check it out)
As far as the VZW, just make sure you select Verizon for the carrier...

Thumbs up Re: Apache WM6.1 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.19716 (Build 19716.1.0.0) - UPDATED 20080308

I just wanted to say thanks for the 6.0 and 6.1 upgrades and all of the hard work you guys put into them. While 6.0 OK, 6.1 was wedded bliss! It was the first time in over two years that everything actually worked like it's supposed to, with nay a hiccup or crash. Too bad the honeymoon was short lived because the cell chip mysteriously went MIA a few weeks later. After the replacement f***ed up the very day I received it, they decided to send me a 6800 this time.

Well, thank you and farewell, I'm off to the 6800 board!

Re: Apache WM6.1 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.19716 (Build 19716.1.0.0) - UPDATED 20080308

Since I don't know how to build my own custom ROM is there a version that works without doing a lot of stuff to it that I can install and have it work out of the box? Will the Lenny version do that? I've read the FAQ several times but it still doesn't make sense, maybe when I try it things will clear up? In one of the read me files it mentions having the USB connected with activesync to do the ROM upgrade but I have never been able to get activesync to connect to the device so can it be done off the miniSD card instead?
Also, where do I actually get WM6.1, is it included in the rar file from PCKitchen or do I have to buy it somewhere? Anyone?

There are multiple things that can go wrong. You might try posting the errors you're getting, so someone can try to help.

BuildOS is really pretty simple to use. Most people just read up on it and then dive in. You'll make a few mistakes at first, but you'll be happier in the end. And, no, you don't have to buy WM6.1. There are prebuilt WM6.0 or WM5 roms, but you'll need to search for them.

However, if you're having Activestink issues, you'll probably need to resolve that first. Search on here for things you can do to fix that.
