While I don't see what difference that would make, are you saying I should make IE my default browser, so that a non-browser app can contact your servers?

Re: Apache WM6.1 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.19716 (Build 19716.1.0.0) - UPDATED 20080308

Hi,
I have been reading the forums here quite a bit, and am trying to figure out the best way to get my Sprint PPC6700 upgraded to the latest WM6.1 version.

I have downloaded the BuildOS from PPCKitchen.org
Ran the Updater and when given the option to choose the update files, I selected the Helmi kitchen files, and the Generic OEM kitchen files in addition to the ones selected by default. Is this what I need or is there anything else that I missed?
What are installed with this package? Is there a list of software that comes with this upgrade?
Also, is the phone going to be able to install other software after I install this? How about connecting to Exchange, as I use this phone to connect to my work mail...

My company also implements security restrictions on the phone (like a Pin Lock tool), so would this work with the upgrade?

sorry for so many questions, but any input here is much appreciated, as I would like to upgrade this very much if I can, instead of getting another phone...

Re: Apache WM6.1 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.19716 (Build 19716.1.0.0) - UPDATED 20080308

Well, I finally decided to upgrade from WM6 to 6.1
took a few flashes reducing the size to get it to work.

My original reason to upgrade was that I was getting a certificate error when trying to run Garmin XT.

with 6.1 I still get the certificate error, and now have a couple more:

Live messenger wont allow me to set up to log in and as a result I can't get my live push e-mail.
Tried going into e-mail to set up live, and it tells me there are auto settings but nothing ever gets set up.

Does anyone have any sort of fix for these?

Re: Apache WM6.1 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.19716 (Build 19716.1.0.0) - UPDATED 20080308

Just installed the new rom with one small issue. I upgraded from helmi's last wm6 rom and for some reason whenever I try to recover my contacts using PIM Backup (same thing I used to back them up) it gives me a list of the same amount of contacts I have, all names showing "Unknown" and no numbers.

Also, Is there anyway I can go back to the original layout of text messages and not this conversation layout?

I have the same issue with Windows Live not working at all - It worked in 6.1 on a previous build, but doesn't work at all on this build.

Hi Guys

I have a problem with tethering my Vx6700 currently running WM 6.1 from ppckitchen.org.

So here is the issue, the phone is able to connect to EVDO network but in a minute or so just disconnects? I have tried this multiple times in different states with no luck. This use to work reall well with WM 6....

Please help.....

For some of the recent certificate issues check and include .NET CF3.5 in your build.

I would recommend this build as a more "stable" (older but more updated or cleaned up release) build which came out later.

Got it to work after doing research! Just still have the same problems with not being able to connect to routers with WPA-PSK w/ TKIP... Any work around to that? I upgraded to 6.1 thinking that might solve my problem when I was on 5.0

Hi Sportster,

I just upgraded my Xv6700 to WM6.1 and had the same issue. After some research come to find out The Windows Live and Windows Live Messenger included in the kitchen (Lenny's Selections) are not compatible with Windows Mobile 6.1. You have to go to google and do a search for "Windows Live Mobile Fixed" you will find a link for the updated and fixed Windows Live Mobile that ALSO includes Windows Live Messenger. I don't know if its against the rules to post the link or file here so don't want to get into trouble. But its right on Google. You will also need to reflash the phone also before doing this as when I tried it told me the update didn't have sufficient permission. Just remember not to include it in the rom. Also do NOT download Windows Live Mobile directly from MS. It does NOT include Messenger client.

To everyone else,

I simply cannot say thank you enough for all the work put into this. It has revitalized my phone. I have Windows Mobile 6.1, HTC Home, Htc Touchflo and Touch Cube Windows Live and Messenger Mobile, Slide 2 unlock, HTC overclocker Google Maps, and Microsoft Voice Command all installed and the phone is fast, responsive, and I still have 28 megs of Storage and 24 megs of RAM available with it all running. I leave it running overclocked at 520Mhz and not a single reboot has had to take place. Thank you all so much for all the work you've put into this. The Build OS and Kitchen was so easy to use and figure out. You guys really rock. The Threaded/conversation SMS is totally awesome and now i understand why people liked it on the treo so much.
