what is new in sept 18 cookiedink and the sept 20?

Help! Ok so lovin the Sept. 20th update . Only problem is, I have the Compact Start Menu (CSM) before I do Spb backup. After SPB backup restore, no CSM. ??? I want to get CSM working. Anybody know what's up?

8 pp – 83 MB free, Compact Start Menu (QM)= 107 MB FREE !!! 24MB change.. OK multi-taskers.. ROCK ON
14 pp- 77 MB free, CSM= 100 MB FREE !!! 23MB change
22 pp - (default) 69 MB free, CSM = 93-94 MB free!! 25MB ch. Default (EDIT) from 6/18 redone on 6/18 ROM myself
32 pp – 57 MB free, CSM = 83 MB free 26MB change
0 pp – 62 MB free, CSM = 88 MB free 26MB change (seems to be at where a 24 pp would start)
Theoretically the “change” number should probably be the same? Less than scientific testing… rough numbers…
ME? 0 pp (zero)
WHY? 2 reasons: (my test & opinion)
1. Windows managed, suppose to dynamically allocate. In the past OS memory leak issues, and inability of OS to recover it led to many ‘out of memory’ issues across a couple OS’s, it would slow to a crawl with under 10 MB free, until rebooted. The 231xx series is ROCK SOLID on memory leaks & giving back RAM after use. We’ll see if this series can also manage the RAM itself & give it back!
2. CSM (Compact Start Menu) is giving up 25 (me) to 37MB more RAM to work with!!! Perhaps this will raise the floor so the lowest level amount of RAM (highest usage) doesn’t dip into a crippling state.
CSM ON: (start, settings, compact start menu, reboot? Y)
Undo CSM: (start, setting, Normal Start Menu)

6/18: cookie redo myself data: Pp 22 default, 68 MB @ screen dim, SD out: put in airplane mode, reboot, 70 MB free @ screen dim, 67 on pushing power button, CSM 93-94 MB free @ screen dim.. 92 2nd time

Also, what Page Pools are people running on 21916 Build? Thinking about running 0 PP. Yes, I know this post is for Build 23138.

So I want to use this QMenu due to the up and down arrows on it.

He says he goes into AMeBa Settings to change what the windows icon does (it opens the quick menu.) So what do I have to change for the Cookie 9.20 23XXX ROM so that the windows icon in bottom right opens the QMenu. I have looked every where on this rom for AMeBa but I am pretty sure that this ROM doesnt have it. I know the arrows are a small technicality but it is pretty (yea i said it!!!) And tonight is my first time playing with OCing so I hope i dont set off a bomb and my phone blows up. Wish me luck!

EDIT: either I am blind or an idiot... I figured it out. Seems like this always happens when i break down and ask. Sorry!

if for some reason it's not backing up, just do a search and try to find the cab to install it, i don't use it nor do i know where to get it, but i would imagine it's not hard to find, but if by chance you can't find it just post it in the room and someone will help you find it.

the changelog for the 18th is on the first page post #4, haven't seen a changelog for the 20th yet.

For people who are cutomizing their Windows\start menu, how are you backing it up for the next flash?

By putting it in the manual root directory of sashimi?

Is there a better way?... because how do you delete the real links that that programs will install?

dunno, old zero issue was running out of RAM & not giving back... It's working awesome, but ran out of RAM once on heavy use Opera:config, set real high to 20 connections max, 15/server.... REAL fast, nice, if I can duplicate that error, I'll try to flash with 24 or more & see if I can reproduce with 24... if so, then the worst that can happen is that it's the same.

Please delete that link above... it's built in, you know right? start(winkey) settings, compact start menu
also, before NRG made the Sept 18 & 20th ROMs, some had to use the Xbutton (AMeBa) but no longer have to

start, settings, compact startmenu turn it on? (no CSM meaning what.. ? it doesn't work with the startkey or it isn't in settings?)

It is not in settings, it does not show up.
