Thank you so much, never thought it would not use the satellites by default! Once it locked to them, it went from 3800 meters to 10 meters, and by the picture, it was only like 2 meters off! But I turned off Google maps and when I turned it on, it again had USE GPS off. Does anybody know how to leave it on by default?
now I need a program I can use to measure areas, like a pasture. My old Garmin had it, and I found one android program that does it too, but can't find one in the marketplace. I guess I will have to switch to Android whenever I need to measure pastures.

This is a double edged sword, being both an advantage and disadvantage.

I can bet you a "quarter", that if you change your radio/rom combo, you will have different results.
Dont ask which radio is best suited for you, as it will actually depend on you exact area and ALSO where you commute everyday..

I just started playing around with the an app that forces the radio to remain in 1x mode to enhance battery life. My workplace is in a relatively low signal area and I see my radio switching a lot between 3g/1x all the time. So far using this app, I see some increased battery life, but I just started using it so it's difficult to say for sure how much it helps.

OK Guys/Gals,

Flashed the 21916 Rom from the 18th. (Ran Task29 first.) Still having several issues:

1) When I go to the settings tab and then "All Settings", the screen goes dim (like a menu trying to open up) but nothing happens. Then it just goes back to the settings tab. Is that normal for this ROM?

2) Provisioned for Sprint, and I even installed the Boosh MMS fix cab. About once per day, texting "breaks", necessitating a reboot. Usually fixes the problem, but sometimes a second reboot is necessary.

3) Tethering: installed the "Wifi on in Standby" cab. When I try to tether (I select "internet sharing" when the selection screen comes up) I get an error message that the connection is not available (gives me the option to look at internet settings or dismiss). Settings look OK. After a few more seconds, the connection connects (usually). I looked in settings, and it's set to #777 with no username/password. Everything looks OK. I have an Airave, if that makes any difference.

4) You guys are all talking about Arkswitch, but I don't see it anywhere in the startup folder (or anywhere else). Is it in the 21916 ROM?

TIA for any troubleshooting tips.

Does anyone know how I can have the screen rotate while I text (rotate the phone). This ROM does not seem to do that like others I have tried.

For #1 its because of the Compact Start Menu, u want to access those settings hit the start button

I also had this happen to me while using the compact start menu. When I disabled the compact view and returned to normal, the All Settings tab worked fine for me.
