Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications. Here you'll see a bunch of keys, but you're looking for the
{A877D65B-239C-47a7-9304-0D347F580408} one. Within this key, look for a dword value "AvailableOptions". Chances are it's set to 11. You need to change this to 15. This will enable all options except for the repeat. There is a way to do that, just haven't found it yet...and personally I wouldn't use it myself.

FYI, if you're curious what the other {...} keys are for, go to them one by one and look at the "Default" value. It's a string value and is used to describe what the key is for e.g. "Message: New message" is what's shown for this particular key. You'll find all of the other keys for the other notifications in the Sound and Notifications drop down e.g. New e-mail message, Reminders, etc.

Why are you shouting? This was such a diffuicult post to read...all caps, all bold, and one big paragraph! Any hoo...with regards flashing Juicy's ROM:
  • Did you select the carrier customizations after you flashed? Try with and try without e.g. two different flashes and experiment between each
  • Did you clear storage after you flashed? Always recommended with any custom ROM.

1. Alarm would come on but goes off after 3 rings. It should never go off and it was fine with running Energy's rom. Any idea?
2. Holding the End Key does not work. Any fix for this?

Thanks,

  1. I don't really use my phone as an alarm, but I've just tried it and can confirm it only sounds for a few seconds :( I've read good things about G-Alarm though.
  2. When you say holding the end key does not work, you mean an extended hold where it's supposed to power off the phone so you can do a soft reset? What does yours do, and how long are you holding it? If I hold mine for about 2 seconds the "Do you want to turn off your device Yes / No" prompt appear.

Thanks! I didn't notice that there's a menu down there. I wish there was just another option in the list. Kinda weird that there an Other Settings option and an All Settings.

The Task Manager is in the All Settings | System page, but a quicker way to access the HTC task manager settings, and how to minimize instead of close apps is to tap on the HTC task manager drop-down icon in the top RH corner from the home tab. When the pop-up dialog appears, tap the little wrench to access the task manager options screen.

Regarding your remapping of keys....there is a fantastic keyboard mapping tool, Rhodium Keyboard Controller. I've posted copied / pasted this next bit a few times lately, but what the heck...

Thanks for the info!

New 3D drivers may help in the future (Juicy already has the latest) but otherwise it's just hardware. TP3 with a snapdragon is in my future ;)

For item 2, you sound like you are referring to holding down the power button in which it will ask if you want to turn off your device. That works. My question was referring to the End call key. I hold it for long enough to confirm it doesn't work. Usually, when you hold the End key for like 5 secs, it will pop up with the Quick list where you can choose to put phone in vibration, airplane mode, etc. With R2 rom, holding the End key as usual does not do anything.

Looks like the end key on the sprint does something different than the telus one. My end call key will ask me to turn the device off if I hold it for a few seconds. Holding my actual power button for an extended period does nothing. Wwhat you have is the original "long presss end" functionality. For some reason Telus dropped that feature!

Sorry, can't help you in that case.

What I noticed is in this rom, the "Long Press End Key" is missing under Settings\System. No one uses this function or is having issue with this?

Howdy, I'm really liking Juicy's rom here. I tried most of them and this works great for me. Yes it's missing a few things but I picked up cabs so the extras I wanted are now installed. Weird question but I've seen pics of 4 rows on the quick links on the main page. Juicy's and others have a large 3 across below the clock as a default. I would like to make the quick link tabs smaller and have 4 across. Is this possible with Juicy's Rom and if so would one know where I could find a tweak. I've search all over and other than the various pictures with the 4 across I cannot find the cab. Thanks in advance. By the way thanks Juicy and to all those who contribute to making making my device soooo cool!

Big Thanks for the link...wow this is just what I was looking for...
I think my device cannot get any cooler. Being the flash addict I am I'll probably flash to the newest and latest and start all over again. I think I'll start looking for a close chapter of FA...(Flashers Anonymous) to start going to meetings. 12 step program and all

I hope your talking about the Max Manila I just installed. It's in a cab file. Copy to cab to your storage card preferably. Click on the cab and it will ask to install to device or card. I installed on my card. After install it will ask if you want to do a soft reset...click yes and wait to be impressed!!!!

Hey Juicy,

I tip my hat to you on cooking a sooper dooper rom. Unfortunately the deal breaker was the lack of MMS... I understand that this is in 2.5, and not your rom. Just wanted to give you props for the build. Everything was spectacular, but I couldn't do without mms. Thanks bro.

Well if your talking about installing Juicy to your device you need to unlock the phone first (very important)...then download the Rom which is in an exe file. Instruction are on the first post in this forum for all this. Good Luck....:confused1:

mbuckwalter figured out a way to keep the HTC messaging app for SMS, but to use tmail for MMS (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...postcount=1678). This works on NRG's, as there is the option in the account selection screen to choose outlook, misc. email accounts, and SMS/MMS. Juicy's however, doesn't have SMS/MMS as an option for selection. Is there a something that I can do to get that as a selectable account, or is not possible due to the way the ROM was made?

Thanks.

EDIT: found the answer after researching the thread...method for Sprint, works for VZW.

There's still a glitch I'm running up against after doing this. Changing the HKLM\System\Inbox\ExternalAccounts SMS key to SMS.htc worked great in showing the SMS/MMS account in the account selector. However, now when I go to the inbox, change to SMS/MMS, tap menu -> new -> picture message then tap to insert picture, all of the thumbnails are these small blue pictures of a camera, making it impossible to know what i'm sending...hmm...

Look in the root TP2 Upgrades forum. There is a sticky on the stop that has the link to the unlocker. there is also a link to the relocker in case you have to send it back to sprint.

Not that cab, but I'm running the maxmanila2.5 ultimate v2.5 on R2 and it works great. You can choose between 16 or 20 shortcuts, turn the weather on or off, and a bunch of other options. I've not had any problems with it displaying contact pictures, and they say that if it doesn't display properly to switch from 16 to 20 (or vice versa) and then back to refresh the list.

I have Tellme installed on R2 and it works great w/ one exception. When I send a text it just puts the text in the outbox and doesn't send until I send another text message. I am not educated enought to know if this is a ROM related bug or a manilla 2.5 related bug. Posted in the Tellme thread as well, but thought I would see if anyone else is experiencing this on R2.
