Re: [03/5/10]V4.1 Timberwolf 6.5.5 Sense 2.5 2012 (28232 & 23542) MAX 3.0 Roms
jstine or others,
Do you use xtask as a taskmanager? I ran it and admit I don't understand it. I've read about half of the xda thread that deals with it. I did notice that when I ran it, it basically broke the PSshut function on the long press end key. If anyone is using it, maybe you could give me some pointers? TIA, ST |

Provisioning was by Stedysoft, maybe something has changed with this build. Calk used Jmz Provisioning without the Generic cab. Quote:
PSshutXP works for me. Xtask, hitting the x will close the running task. Also xtask will kill active sync and keep it from running again(maybe, will see). Most of the time u will use the middle "Taskman" to stop a program. The other two are for seeing what processes are running in the background. I wish the person who designed e-Native Showcase would fix the problems. Really did like it as my task manager. Considering going back to xip (23532) but with the new manila 2012.1412. Battery life was better.

jstine,
The VZW cab installed fine. I have phone and sms. However, when I tried to send myself an mms (just now) it said the message had expired. I went into the messaging ap and tried to download the message (it was in the list) and it repeated the "expired" message and locked up the phone. I tried reading the message again after a soft reset with the same result. I could use the hard button to open the menu and run shutxp. Did a soft reset with shutxp, tried to send another mms with same result. I don't believe I've ever seen this mms error on your roms before and the locking up characteristics I haven't seen in a long time. regarding xtask, it may be a different UI than I'm use to. Do you use the default settings? I'm going to reflash to see if that helps the mms issue. I'll repost with news when I'm done. ST Quote:

Hey jstine, have the same problem again screen is locked on the words Touch Pro 2 since yesterday evening. I hit reset yesterday and it went to that screen and nothing I've tried was able to boot it up. I installed V3 back on February 24 2010 and I want to install V4.1. Is there any help you can offer me.

OK, here's how my morning went.
Flashed v4.1 again, still no mms Flashed VZW 6.5 release (had to reauthenicate phone) mms worked Flashed v4.0;v3.2;v3 each could not receive mms (I checked sending a mms on v3 to another phone sucessfully, but could not forward the picture back to my phone) Still receiving the "message expired or not available" error took out the memory card and reflashed v4.1 resent mms from another phone and got error "message expired...". Hard reset. I can send mms but cannot receive. I'll try more troubleshooting later. I beleive that I had checked mms for v3 by sending myself a message but I'm not sure. I have gotten lazy checking out the phone after flashing (probably because I never found an issue). If it wasn't for being able to send/receive mms on the vzw stock rom, I'd say I had an issue with my phone or the server. Now I'm not sure. I did not install any other programs during this testing. Confused in WA, ST Edit: I did a little searching on the internet. It appears this is a VZW issue. People have reported this problem intermittently for a while. Some say they have a fix (didn't work for me). Others say it fixed itself after a while. Guess I'll wait and see. I don't use mms much anyway LOL. (why it worked when I loaded the vzw rom I don't know???) Last edited by suntopper; 03-06-2010 at 04:45 PM. |
