what was wrong with r7?? do i need to upgrade & should i flash to stock first on this rom also if i change from r7 2 r8??

Just flashed..got a phone call , then "sleep of death"

will wait till next occurence before flashing back to R7. What is new in this build ?

Had the sleep of death 3 times in the past 2 1/2 hours. Other than that, the ROM is another amazing piece of work. Any ideas on what may be causing the sleep of death?

When I first tried this ROM (R4), I was constantly getting the SOD and was about to give up. Someone suggested stopping the weather animation on the homescreen and this worked. I have not flashed another ROM since because it runs so nicely.

I've been having a few freeze-ups as well that require a restart....hmm, just after i got it completely set up too just the way i like it. I did install cookie monster 1.5.4, which i think really finishes off htc sense. It didnt seem to be causing any problems in r7...

I was experiencing sleep of death with r5. Didn't have that problem with r7. Haven't flashed r8 yet.

I think this was asked a little bit back as well and not answered, but what are you guys doing regarding flashing to stock before flashing a new rom. I've been flashing to stock, doing a hard reset, flashing the new rom, and then hard resetting. Is that overkill?

Edit: I ask because I'm thinking of reverting back to R7 which was really flawless for me, and it would be nice to have it be a quicker process, especially if I just went straight to R7 without going to stock at all.

Unless someone knows about a possible R9....haha, I realized I don't even look at the other cooks' roms anymore, I just come straight to this, it just works so well

I haven't flashed back to stock since I started flashing my TP2 and I have flashed plenty of ROMs on this bad boy.
