Re: |H|ROM|6.5.1|WWE| ** EnergyROM 'Photon' (23081/21864) |Nov5| Manila 2.1 and 2.5

Awesome ROM!

Is there a way to use a different version of text messaging? Chance the whole text messaging "interface" Not sure if that makes sense lol... Also when i'm in the text messaging interface my keyboard doesn't work properly. The shift and function keys don't work and sometimes it puts a tottaly differant letter than i typed.

Thanks in advance for your help!!

completely unrelated to that story, but definitely related to the ROM. seems like now the SMS doesn't have a way out of it by default. once i'm in threaded SMS, the only way i can get out is to slide the stupid thing out to the left (over the contact icon) before i can get a 'back' option. inside the thread i only have 'send' and 'menu' :/ home key doesn't work. back key doesn't work. end key doesn't work. kinda effed....
Wow the Sprint Studio/P&L store is the closest store to me, it's where I get most my work done. Thanks for the info and I am kind of in agreement with you. I am holding out on this generation (TP2, Pre, Hero) of phones unless I am upgraded for free. I know I will probably get blasted here for saying this but unless windows 7 really knocks it out of the park, the TP will be my last WM phone for a while.

Okay back to the rom info, I am having the exact same problem in the threaded text view. I can however hit the home hard key to get back home. Just don't have a soft key back option and the hard back key doesn't do anything. Call end key takes me back home out of threaded view.

Just downloaded the newest upload (21864) release 2. Still having the same problems as the last few builds. Everything worked great for me in the September build (cannot remember build number or find the download anymore), but once I upgraded I cannot log into Windows live to retrieve contacts and email and still having problems with the hardware keyboard shift and FN keys not working. Cannot stand the autocomplete when typing with the hardware keyboard but cannot turn it off. It's off in the options.

Wow, so far with release 2 of Nov.14th's release, everything is running speedy and good. Still get random delay's here and there with messaging, and sometime's the calandar randomly pop's up after the initial reboot's. But less lag, and noticable faster then previous releases. Another day or two, and i will help test the nov.14 23*** release. Messaging (SMS) works great both ways out of thre box, with notifications working fine. MMS works, but only using WM messenger. But it still notifies and shows message fine in MSG slider tab, it just doesn't show attachments with the message unless you open it with WM messanger, but doesn't delete it at least. So far, so good. YEAY!!!!!

I think you'll be yelled at later for not keping up and searching. All roms with sense 2.5 are not meant to be steady and for everyday use like those previous 2.1 based roms. With that said, all your issues have been addressed numerous times. YOur first concern with WL, disable sense, then run window live. Once logged in and setup your acc. then turn on sense.
Your second concern, you need western ezinput, which you can find by searching this thread, but i'll save you soem troubles. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/misc.php?d...hments&t=69545
that's where all the files that have been posted on this thread before.
Good luck!

Thanks tkedch! It fixed the problems i was having with the keyboard.

So is there no way to change the overall "interface" of the text messages?

yes, but it's not really chaning your overall interface, it just brings you back to defaul WM sms interface. go here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/misc.php?d...hments&t=69545
and find zenyee disable HTC msging. beware that you will only see the wm ui when you click the left softkey "all messages".

Thank you. I tried looking the info up but with 1800+ pages it can be difficult. I am still waiting for my internet to be hooked up so I am browsing the board and downloading the ROMs with my TP. I will try to above mentioned tricks. I like the new Sense and of course expected some initial flaws with it running all together smoothly. Thanks again NRG for the great ROM.
