Re: |H|ROM|6.5.1|WWE| ** EnergyROM 'Photon' (23081/21864) |Nov5| Manila 2.1 and 2.5

I agree with trying to get the ringtone thing figured out as a priority over SMS/MMS. I noticed, even with soft resets and not touching the ringtones that mine remains silent. I think what they are saying at XDA's 2.5 thread is that a lot of these issues are due to older, incompatible packages. My hope is that in a short amount of time that they will be ironed out.

As far as messaging goes, I'm kind of hoping that the next rom just incorporates the disable HTC Messaging Client. It's kind of funny to me how everyone said all they wanted was the cool animated weather to begin with. If we can have that, but still have to use MS Messaging, is better than pulling our hair out over something that is probably going to have to wait for HTC to build a release quality version. Kind of like, there is only so much you can do to make poop look good... It's STILL poop! Or something like that.

I once installed a flip out dvd player (which was stolen) in my beater 89 S10. Someone commented that it was "like painting a turd gold." I think that's how its said, lol. Honestly, I just like the way the home screen is setup in 2.5. The animated weather thing is cool too. Basically it makes your phone think its Stuart from MadTV and say "Look what I can do!"

Have you tried reformatting your SD card?

Not trying to sound like an *** here, but I was wondering why anyone flashes from the SD card. It just seems easier to me to dump the downloaded rar into a folder and run the RUU. If I'm missing something, clue me in. I've never done it from the card before. Thanks!

You gotta try it and see. It's easier IMO. Once you download the rar you can extract the .nbh file to your card. I have a card with a few ROMs on it, namely a solid stock ROM, a ROM I'm familiar with, and whatever happens to be the latest one I'm testing.
I can flash at will with just my phone, dont need a PC/laptop.
The PC flash has a few more components and steps increasing the chance of issues (bad RUU or USB being two).
SD flash-insert card, enter bootloader and your flashing.
Cant hurt to give it a shot, the Chef has certainly given us plenty of practice

For stable ROMS I Flash from the SDcard. With these experimental ROMS I flash from the computer. I leave a back up copy of 10/14 RAPH on my SD Card, so that if I get stuck in the endless reboot loop, I can just reflash from the card, and restart. For me it works. I have everything saved in Sashimi. I use this phone every day and can't afford to be without it. So if a ROM loads wrong or anything, and I gotta go back to work, it only takes about 15 minutes to reset the phone. Works out well, cuz I can set it to reflash, then Hard reset once, and it will reinstall, reboot, then run sashimi all while I am driving to work. by the time I get to work, its all back to normal.

Everyone that wants to use Showcase with the new ROMs should be good to go. I'm running Showcase 1.1.0 with it set to Close on Tap of X. You must make sure though that you go into Windows/Startup and delete posfix.lnk!! If you don't it will cause conflicts. I never had the problems like everyone else did with Showcase 1.1.0 so I have always kept using it.
