Sorry if you have an answer already. Did you dload the ROM or cook this? I believe there is an EXT in the kitchen to add/remove that bar. Let me see if I can find it, hang on...I am not positive but try "Manila Options - 2.x - Enable Manila Start Menu" I believe that will put the start menu at the top.

Disable "Tweaks - 3 Row SMS Input" in the kitchen. That worked for me.

but the HTC text selection only works in the new HTC messaging client, right? Not, in manila 2.1 w/ windows messaging?

With the new kitchen. Two versions ago it was there. Then with Kitchen v4.1 it wasn't, and now with kitchen v.4.2 it's back.

I've disabled most the manila, chome, "regular" programs, and have built all my own non-rom/htc components. So I figure it's something either with the SYS or something in the kitchen. v4.1 I was using wm6.5.x and didn't have that. It's seems to me one can turn it off/add it somehow.

I can't answer that. I mainly use titanium and with that tweak selected I couldn't open any messages to view them. Once I disabled in the kitchen, it works fine in titanium. Worth a try?

whaaat? "that bar" you are talking about is and always has been there ever since 6.5.1 was released, if you ever wanted "that bar" in the top, then you would have to go to earlier versions like 6.1 and 6.5! and that enable manila start menu, well...., the name says it all! it enables "the manila start menu" which is, whenever you press the start button, instead of getting your programs list from 6.5 or 6.5.1 wm start menu, you get a different menu that is not from wm, it is from manila!

rstoyguy, don't really know what your talking about, ive been downloading these last versions and every single time i choose to build a 6.5.1 rom in the kitchen, i always get that bar in the bottom!

has anybody figured out if the file (.dll i think) that calk posted earlier works for the signal icon?

and has anybody figured out why we get the old lock screen? whenever i lock my phone, the old 6.1 lock is the one that locks it!

Okay tried it and failed....

• ezinput 2.0 doesn't have the Compact QWERTY option. Back to 1.5 and FingerKeyboard.
• The HTC messaging client is buggy and the text selection lets you highlight okay, but wont give you the option to copy/paste/etc. Back to standard SMS and Arcsoft.
• The change to the lockscreen application launcher app.dat seemed to show the wm 6.5 lockscreen, but the notifications don't always show up. Back to S2U2.

Gotta read the posts buddy. Fix you app.dat. It's trying to copy files that don't exist. Change it to the cpr files that are in the package.

assuming you are using wm 6.5.1, tap the small clock in the top right, you will see the windows notification bar drop down. Then, tap and hold the clock again for about 2 secs. Poof!! there it is!
