That's odd... I cooked with 23053 and the send envelope icon is showing for me.

im using 9-16 23412 still and was thinking about using 053 but dont understand what the text issue is...

In TF, ive flashed stock and back and hard reset twice without installing anything else to test.

1. On messaging tab when sliding out keyboard to type; landscape will be cut-off sometimes
2. Names are not automatically brought up in the "To" box when you start typing, but this is the first Calkulin ROM ive used... dont know if that is normal.
3. Sometimes messaging will lock up and a soft-reset is required to get out of messaging altogether.
4. Click messaging tab -> New brings you to text messaging menu, and you have to click Menu -> new SMS to even start a text or sometimes it will start a new one.
5. The messaging is overall wonky and inconsistent with constant lock-ups


The ROM is VERY nice and responsive. I think I will keep it despite the text issues. I really like the 23053 build and what Calkulin has put in. Very solid ROM altogether.

EDIT: After some messing around it seems the texting is working better.

EDIT 2: Yep.. issues above are still there..hopefully a fix will come.

I think it's worth the switch... some UI improvements and seems to be a bit more stable IMO...

showcase is cool, notifications up top finally work. i'd say so.

lol same here. that's why I cook my own, that way I can control what I want in my ROM! The only thing that's driving me up the wall is the PIE issue...

already added showcase, mapped it to longpress send key, and end key to lock. works amazing. well maybe if im bored later...

Anyone have a cab names automatically popping up when typing or a REG. Edit?

Thanks, turns out there was an empty contact on my contact list on Google. just deleted that and all is well.

Since this does not have HTC Task Manager, please, how do I enable press X to close program, My phone freezes after a while , it runs out of memory.

try this and map it to your long press send key in settings/personal/buttons

Guys, you don't need to do that. ShowcaseSuite is baked into the prebuilt 23053 ROM. Just tap once on the "X" to close, long press on the "X" to minimize and long press on the Start icon to bring up Showcase.
Works like a charm!!


edit: If you are using Resco Regedit, you can add the window class name: RESCO_REGISTRY_CLASS to the following key to adjust correctly for the larger tray bar.
