Usually when Calk is in the process of getting a new kitchen up his links are dead. Just keep checking back periodically, they'll be up again.

Has anybody found anything out about this issue? 23064 is so perfect, except for this...

Re: [ 10-3 ][ v3 ][ 6.5.1 / 6.5 / 6.1 ] Calkulin's Visual HTC Kitchen & ROMs

I saw the same bug with the HTC phone canvas and not being able to switch to the phone keypad. Unfortunately that was a deal-breaker for me (I have to deal with voice-mail front-ends all the time) so I quietly went with Longhorn ROM until the new kitchen comes out...

...wow, I re-read that and realized:

1. It's not entirely accurate,

and

2. It really does make me sound like a whiny-*** crybaby *****.

So, allow me to explain:

When I realized I couldn't get to the keypad from the canvas I had several choices, including "troubleshoot", "attempt to install a different phone canvas" and "copy RAPHIMG.nbh from \Storage Card\ROM Storage\Longhorn ROM to the root of the microSD card and flash that ROM...which while buggy and certainly not my weapon of choice, at least the number pad works..."

I had some other issues, too, though.

Namely...I can't seem to find a build of 6.5.1 that will play nicely with Mobile Shell 3.5. Yeah, I know, the SPB forums are full of the wailing and the gnashing of the teeth but I'm not so certain it's JUST MS3.5's fault, y'know? Because when I revert back to a non-6.5.1 build (say, dcd's v2.16 or Mighty6 Final) MS3.5 seems to work just fine. Oh, and by "problems" I mean the damned device locks up hard -- invariably! -- and requires a hard reset to recover. Yeah...it sucks. ***. ....and a lot of it.

Anyway, I'm gonna try flashing to stock (god how I loathe that) and then cooking a new ROM with the v3 kitchen and see what happens. Hopefully the v4 kitchen'll be out soon (today would be good, hint, hint... ).

BTW: Thank you Calk for all the hard work you do. I, for one, really appreciate it!

you can still use the hard keyboard to use in phone keypad, not very convenient, but it gets the job done.

The weird thing is that a new kitchen with nothing changed can't even build. What WinXP components could be corrupted that win't allow platformrebuilder to run?
I may just want to dump this ROM to try and find how I did it.
When the kitchen errors out like that I've found it's almost always an EXT package with modules that does it. And if you went and moduled a bunch of files I'm pretty certain that's your issue. What I do when that happens is disable large groups of packages and build until the problem goes away. Then add them back piece by piece until it works again. Process of elimination. Good luck

Is it the fact that I need to right-click and import them? even if I put them directly into the correct folder? How does this look?
Oh yeah, convert ezinput and the drivers back to files, I'm almost positive it's one of those packages you converted to modules that's causing the problem.

Same question... Calk, when do you plan to have links working to your new release??

Depending on when you plan to have it, it would be nice if you or somebody else can give a link to the current working kitchen as I would like to have my task and calendar working.

Also, some people tried the new version. Can someone post comments on the future release?

Thanks for your good work.
