I've installed many ROMS on 3 different phones and had few issues. I have a crazy issue with this one. After installing and syncing my contacts and whatnot, I can no longer install cab files. Clicking on the cab file does nothing. I've checked the registry entries to make sure the file associations are correct and nothing seems amiss. The phone won't connect via active sync anymore either. I can't set alarms either ... you checkbox the alarm and it unchecks itself when you close it.

I can live without the alarms, but it would be really nice to be able to install cab files again.

Maybe one of the programs you installed is messing up registry? I have had no problems installing cab files or connecting the computer via active sync. Also my alarms are working as they did with the stock rom. I hate the alarm application though..

Yeah, I've searched the forums and found nobody else with this issue. Its a weird one. I'm going to hard reset and see if cab files work prior to the first sync. This is all the same software I had on my original Touch. Its certainly possible that one of them doesn't like the Pro. I'm gonna hate installing things one by one to see what screws it up if that's the case.

i'm looking at the list now. there were a few astraware games but I don't see those as being relevant. I'll leave them off this time. Franson GPS Gate, iGuidance and Microsoft Reader were all I'd installed at that point.

As of this point I've hard reset, installed one cab file and synced the phone. I've just soft reset and we'll see if it syncs and allows cab installs still. Nope :/

The only thing I installed was a satellite radio player (C-ApiSRO). I hadn't even installed that last time when I had this issue. This is crazy.

Well a lot of the blue files came from a theme called Black Blue and the same person (Elvelynn) who made that has one called Black Red...try it out.

This time I'm going to backup my contacts etc. with PIMbackup and hard reset again. I'll skip the sync with Vista and see what happens.

I also have the manila file that will make the globe highlighted blue instead of green when you select it, that way it will match the rest of the theme.

I also have a .reg file that will change the color of the highlight on the start menu, the task manager dropdown menu and changes the phone pad highlight to blue as well...

Edit: The blue highlight entries file just needs to be clicked on. the other two .zip files need to have the files inside extracted and copied into the windows folder using resco or total commander.

Well, on the bright side, everything seems to work now... as long as I don't sync with the computer. I don't even want to begin trying to figure out what causes it to go bonkers after syncing. Time to build a new computer :P
