Blah, blah, details, details. So I was a bit blinded by sarcasm to get all the facts straight. My point that your ROM has/had nothing to do with the functioning of the app in question still holds water

Nevermind, I see it has to do with wifi tethering. Carry on.
Actually it's benefits far exceed the functioning of one app which works now without a modded kernel (got it right this time )
To repeat:netarchy's kernel will uncap your fps, make the system quicker, and enable 5 point multi-touch-if your device has that sensor.
The actual Froyo source kernel has not been released yet (afaik) so netarchy modded an older one. Once that is released he will be able to really kick things up a notch.

Thanks
Just installed it on OMJ 2.2 v2.1 deodexed and the speech to text button is there

Try to reset your sound to another one and press test settings and see.
I'm talking about the setting that says "sound on call" It is at the very bottom of the screen under notification settings next to vibrate on call.

Sorry...misunderstood.

Looks like others have the same issue on the handcent forums. So it's not the ROM.

http://bbs.handcent.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2552

Their release notes for the latest upgrade don't show they addressed it.

Right, when I was running 2.1 it was there for me as well. Now on 2.2 it's not working. It's turned on in settings/language & Keyboard/Touch Input Settings/Voice Input/Show Voice Button. It is set to "For English", but the keyboard still shows the grayed out En button.
