Pic mail works fine on 1.5 and 1.6.
Vid mail has been an issue even on Stock ROM., dont use it much so I haven't researched it much.

3g seems a little quicker

Thanks Winmo for your advice and whitslack at xda for the tutorial

Awesome! Glad you got it.

Not 100% but since you asked twice-you can run

adb logcat

or

adb bugreport

I know that's how to check for errors but I dont know what to look for.

I ran the Start Over method last night and it went perfectly. I dont have 4G yet either. If I come up with a definitive test I'll post it.

Only OMJ knows that...but it wasnt working well on v1.4.
It is a feature of Froyo which will be dropping soon.

Stopped using it a week ago. IF there's a difference it's negligible.

Honestly though, with a situation like that, my experience, or anyone else's for that matter will only tell you so much.

IMO your best option is to run WITH it for 3 days or so, then run WITHOUT it and see how YOUR device reacts.

Hope that helps.

Anyone have 4G reconnecting issues? When I leave 4G area and come back to it I have to either turn off and on 4G or hit the scan button or it just keeps saying "scanning...". Any ideas?

Re: OMJ's HTC EVO 2.1 Custom ROM v1.6 | Eclair | *Updated | 6/30/10*

The only issue I noticed with 4G when I was visiting Dallas was I couldn't get a data connection unless 4G was turned on. 3G wouldn't work at all. Honestly though I can't remember which ROM version I had, this was a few weeks ago. I didn't even know Dallas had 4G until I tried it for giggles when I couldn't get a 3G connection.

Ok, I came up with this on my own and it satifies ME. Take it with a grain of salt.

Download an app called aLogcat from the Market.

Run it with 4G OFF. You can let it run and watch the logs or hit Menu>Pause. Either way, any lines of code you see pertaining to wimax should show error messages. Even if you dont see error messsages continue on. Press Menu>Filter and type wimax. Now exit the app.

Now turn 4G ON. Wait for the green checkmark to be there and it to say scanning (obviously it wont find anything)
Run aLogcat again. This time most if not all your code should pertain to wimax. Hopefully you don't see any error messages.
After doing whitslack's Start Over method I do not see any.
Now clear the Filter so it's blank and exit then restart the app. You should be getting error messages now.

Since it's now trying to find a 4G signal it's throwing errors. It may not matter but I'd re-boot the phone so it's not constantly searching for a signal. (It may stop on it's own but I'm just being cautious)

Please keep in mind this is a n00b attempt (at best) at error reporting.
There may be a better way but this works for me.
Hope that helps.
