Re: OMJ's HTC Sense 2.5 & 2.1 ROMs | WM 6.5 / WM 6.5.x | 21055 / 21895 / 2354x | 3/12

Not sure if anyone have this problem.
I was using my BT to make a call and after I hangup using the BT button, the phone's display stay on and did not turn off until I manually interact with the phone.

Running 23541 v1.2

Re: OMJ's HTC Sense 2.5 & 2.1 ROMs | WM 6.5 / WM 6.5.x | 21055 / 21895 / 2354x | 3/12

Just tried to use Internet Sharing and on this build it can't seem to get an IP (on the PC).
Can someone try to confirm if it's working or not and what IP is the gateway (I can try to assign it manually)

Are you using ICS through USB or wifi? I've found that when I try to tether via USB (always my preferred option), I get better results if I disable wifi on the laptop first. Otherwise I sometimes get behavior similar to what you described.

Using ICS via USB (wifi disabled on phone, no wifi on desktop)
Using earlier builds ICS worked, but on "OMJ_Diamond_Sense_2.5_2012_23541_v1.2" it doesn't at this point.
DHCP can't get an IP address from the phone.
What is the gateway IP (ipconfig /all) when you enable ICS on the phone?

just today i thethered my phone via usb to a desktop running windows 7 32, and another vista 32. also thethered it on 2 laptops running win 7 32. sometimes i had reconnect the device a few times before it got internet access. but it worked on all the pcs and i downloaded over 500mb. this is with the latest 2.5 1.2 rom.

fyi, also thethered via wifi for a bit and that worked as well.

USB tethering didn't work for me either. I get limited or no connection on my XP pro. (32 bits)
XP was unable to find the gateway, looks like it should be 169.254.2.1
It is the first time this happened on XP, happened with previous roms on vista, maybe win7, but never had any problem with XP.

A suggested hack if you want to use SASHIMI on w 6.5.x ROM and are going to install CABs to Internal Storage.
An amazing time saver.
thanks, I'll take a look, one place I looked at looked kind of intimidating to setup, I can write in html and other things and not a lot looks intimidating to me, but this did, but will take a look, would be nice to at least auto setup the quick links for contacts and programs instead of having to find them every time, and of course the installing of cabs not supplied

Has anyone figured out why the latest roms keep kicking back so many text messages? I was fine with it at first but its starting to irritate me...

I think most people do the best with Sashimi by watching the video's, reading the help, looking at the sample installs in the folders that get installed on your phone, then doing something simple, maybe 1 cab to main storage, 1 cab to internal storage, 1 file copy. Once that starts feeling better, you can use Makisu to set up your email accounts, use the registry export to save off some keys you are particularly fond of, segment your goodies between auto install and manual, etc. Start slow, do several flashes and Sashimi setups and pretty soon it'll seem like old hat. Good luck and be sure to ask more questions if you feel the need, we all do from time to time.
