Re: OMJ's HTC Sense 2.5 & 2.1 ROMs | WM 6.5 / WM 6.5.x | 21055 / 21895 / 2354x | 3/12
Just tried to use Internet Sharing and on this build it can't seem to get an IP (on the PC).
Can someone try to confirm if it's working or not and what IP is the gateway (I can try to assign it manually)

Are you using ICS through USB or wifi? I've found that when I try to tether via USB (always my preferred option), I get better results if I disable wifi on the laptop first. Otherwise I sometimes get behavior similar to what you described.

Using earlier builds ICS worked, but on "OMJ_Diamond_Sense_2.5_2012_23541_v1.2" it doesn't at this point. DHCP can't get an IP address from the phone. What is the gateway IP (ipconfig /all) when you enable ICS on the phone? |

USB tethering didn't work for me either. I get limited or no connection on my XP pro. (32 bits)
XP was unable to find the gateway, looks like it should be 169.254.2.1 It is the first time this happened on XP, happened with previous roms on vista, maybe win7, but never had any problem with XP. |

Has anyone figured out why the latest roms keep kicking back so many text messages? I was fine with it at first but its starting to irritate me...

I think most people do the best with Sashimi by watching the video's, reading the help, looking at the sample installs in the folders that get installed on your phone, then doing something simple, maybe 1 cab to main storage, 1 cab to internal storage, 1 file copy. Once that starts feeling better, you can use Makisu to set up your email accounts, use the registry export to save off some keys you are particularly fond of, segment your goodies between auto install and manual, etc. Start slow, do several flashes and Sashimi setups and pretty soon it'll seem like old hat. Good luck and be sure to ask more questions if you feel the need, we all do from time to time.
