Re: CDMA Diamond Radios

A few questions.. I tried to search through some of the threads as best I could, but I'm a noob and don't want to brick.

1. Does the Altell radio just suck? That's what I have and it seems no one is recommending it.
2. Anyone know what the best radio for Des Moines, Iowa or Omaha, NE would be?
3. I was thinking of trying the Telus. If I download it, extract it and run the ROM update utility inside- that will install the Telus radio without doing a hard reset, correct?

To this point, I've managed to unlock my phone and install Mighty Rom, I don't want to do a hard reset and have to install different things again. My reception isn't terrible, but I feel it could be better.

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks =)

1. I don't know I've never tried it.
2. See the above reply
3. I'm not sure if RUU will cause a hard reset when flashing just a radio, but I do know that flashing the radio from the internal storage does not cause a hard reset. See this thread for further http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=40490

Re: CDMA Diamond Radios

I don't see it in anywhere in here, so i'll go ahead and post it:

If your phone's dialer skin does not allow ##DEBUG# to do anything, go into your File Explorer, in the Windows folder, and run FieldTrial.exe

after trying out many, almost all of the radios posted on this thread, i believe sprint 1.11v is the winner considring heat, bars, etc.

Hey man, Thanks! I was asking that question in the Juicy threads since his dialer was the first to cause problems for me. Thanks for the info.

On a side note, Is there a value in the fieldtrial that determines the heat factor? I am using Cellular South's shipped Radio and it is pretty close to the Sprint 1.11.00f which is the one recomended for my area so I see no need to change unless I can determine that Sprin will cause less heat. I dont want to flash to test because I have no way of going back to shipped.

Re: CDMA Diamond Radios

I live in the DSM area and have had great luck with the US Cellular radio. Also make sure you update your PRL to the latest which is 60652

Re: CDMA Diamond Radios

Any views on 1.03.09 vs. 1.11.0 for Sprint? Battery consumption. Strength of signal.
Thanks.
