I hear ya, didn't realize you'd tried different builds. You may want to ask around the OMJ kitchen thread, it is very populated with chefs who would probably be able to help you. I personally hate custom taskbars because they eat away way too much storage space IMO, and I already cook my custom roms in order to save space, but since I include sense 2.5, I am already limited on space (usually 40 mb free or so after flash w/ all my mods). post your q over there and someone will have a reason, it's probably some really simple fix that we're just not finding. |

it basically means sense 2.5 will run smoother and faster and better, has nothing to do with titanium, but there are literally hundreds of titanium tweaks you can do right now that should keep you busy modding your phone to get that perfect look without anything new having to come out. |

I've cooked a couple roms but I need more info on adding the WM7 Titanium interface with the wider scroll bars and the 6.5.x sys. My thumbs have a difficult time with the smaller menus. I like the new sense updates but it seems more stable on the 6.5 sys so when I have to go into programs or access an alert I just about have to get the stylus out.

I have just the solution for you flash a 6.5 ROM, then install one of these bad boys http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=578468 it makes your menus huge (every menu) and look better than the stock 6.5.x menus while maintaining the stability of 6.5 Try it out. |

Re: Wm 6.5.3 28014 & 21882 ROM|SYS 12/17/09
I just had an amazing discovery, at least for me!
I've been running this 28014 rom for about 3 weeks and one of my biggest complaints was not having the dropdown list in the upper right hand corner to bring up task display and close unwanted running tasks, especially things like calculator (calc1) on this rom which has no close function. I just discovered that if I touch pretty much anywhere on the taskbar and it brings down the taskbar dropdown, if I then press the 10's digit if the clock on the taskbar, it brings up a task display!!! Sometimes I can just actually press the 10's digit on my clock in the upper right hand corner, not exactly sure why it doesnt' work everytime, maybe it's a very precise spot you need it touch. It brings up a task list which allows me to x out any running applications!!!! It also has a nice memory display if you click on the phone icon presented too. Does anyone know if this is just a task manager built in? Is this part of the task bar I just didn't know about and is it documented anywhere? When I asked DRB about closing tasks, he didn't suggest this, he said it was a lacking in 28014. Have I discovered something hidden or was I just in the dark? let me know?

Re: Wm 6.5.3 28014 & 21882 ROM|SYS 12/17/09
Glad to say, I heard from DRB and he will be back!
I'm still running your 28014, but occasionally tempted to try that 21887 build you made. I finally figured out that if I click the tens digit of the clock in the taskbar, it usually brings up a nice task manager which allows me to close open apps and that really helps memory usage. Still a pain to bring up the camera, no camera app shortcut on this rom (ok, found it and created a shortcut, nevermind). I don't really like the contact app, awkward navigation and doesn't have some fields like nicknames and others. Bing voice recognition doesn't work for some reason (but after installing a newer version, seems to work fine) and something I've had on other roms and always hated is that when locked, the volume keys are still active, so volume changes when it shouldn't (IMO). Otherwise, things are pretty smooth and except for an occassional lockup which requires soft reset, I'm generally happy, but I think now that I heard from you, I will try the 21887 in the next few days when I have a few hours to play with configuring it. Hope you get your computers up and running soon! Looking forward to your posting again soon! I'm not the only one who wondered where you went! Last edited by etski; 02-08-2010 at 08:41 PM. |
