The sys/xip that I linked to isn't compressed at all, and can easily be used with an existing Calcu kitchen. His rom does have a compressed and uncopmpressed version, but that has nothing to do with the SYS he posted. I'm using it, and it is very stable and all elements work, including Opera and Youtube (which have been issues with some 6.5 builds in the past).

You were saying that you needed a new challenge, so here's what I'll suggest.. Learn to port a sys/xip -- it's really not that hard. I'll help you, if you want.
Inda, your offer is intriguing! I've considered learning to port a sys/xip but hadn't had time to really plow through the forums to learn. I just might take you up on the offer in the near future if my schedule opens up a bit more. Thanks for giving me the conficence to try!

Re: [ May 4 \ 21043(6.1) & 21502(6.5) v4.7 RC ] Calkulin's Kitchen v1.6 & ROMs

Being Mr. Impatient right now, I tried dropping the 21231 SYS into the 21502 kitchen. On first try, I got an error:
Error, last status: "Processing: SYS\FWUpdate... Searching for dsm file"
What am I looking to fix? Remove a selection or did I mess something up in the file transfer?

I would love to see this kitchen have the option of Sashimi compliance or UC. The two could be compiled in as OEMs maybe? Right now I have a Sashimi 8.0 OEM that I put together and I just have it disabled in the reg on first boot, and UC has an XML to enable the auto-run function for second boot -- I would be nice if the entire thing could be done with Sashimi alone.

I definitely want to do this. I lurk a bit in the 6.5 kitchen thread but it is way too 1337 in there for me.

This needs to be my next learning project.

I built a 21231 ROM about an hour ago. Runs pretty smooth but still lags with Device Lock. I know that isnt a huge problem but is my current 6.5 peeve. Other than that, looks pretty good.

Did the links to the 6.5 ROM and Kitchen go down or is my IE just acting up again?

EDIT

NVM, it was my IE.

i would love to "look over someone's shoulder" as well. i've ported sys's in the past, but it usually takes me a few times before i get a bootable rom.

i've read sooooo many tutorials, and alot of varying or conflicting information, steps, etc.
