To get the programs to show up in remove programs....

Use the any of the available reg editors and navigate to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies
change the
DWORD value 00001005 from 546 to 24
and
DWORD value 00001017 from 546 to 24

I have been opening different tsk's in ThemeGen CE too, to see what differences I can find, but is seems like there is a couple elements of that classic blue, the way that it is cooked in as the default theme in the kitchen, that I can't seem to eliminate. I think it is mainly because I am trying to cook in my default theme using the same method and I am missing an element of the blue somewhere.

You might be better off opening/editing your .tsk files with wince cab manager. Then you can easily export the reg entries you need, and/or install during customizations. You can just install your .tsk during customizations too, but that's kinda the cheaters way -- I'm a fan of the cheaters way sometimes. PM me if you need help.

Rebuild ROM

Enjoy
Rebuild...

You get the idea.

Heck, I started a thread precisely for this very reason over in the reg edits section ... I think I even discussed how to create a cab file to install the change in a pre-made rom. Caveat: obviously settings that persist on soft-reset have to be baked into the rom.

I tried changing the value to 24 but still no luck. mine was 64 to begin with not 546. lm sure its me I just dont know what im doing wrong. still only garmin shows up.

Thanks indagroove. Lazy is my middle name! I wasn't searching in the right places it seems. I'll PM you later, although you've pretty much explained it here.
