Because when you text, it switches to 1x each time to send/receive a text. With my texting patterns of about 100 texts per day if not more, it saves me some headaches because I get at least twice as much battery life.

Needless to say, that not why im posting.. I just wanted to put the word out there that the Diamond2 Keyboard cabs were causing my exchange problems. now you can all breath a sigh of relief and get some sleep. i know it was keeping you all up at night.

Cheers,
Another thing to consider is that with a weak signal our phones will boost power to the radio. So if you're in an area where you get better signal strength with 1x it may save on battery

Great tip. Thank you! I second your keyboard issue. Exact same problems, on other ROMS as well for me..even the new Juicy One.. I had no active sync for my googlesync...wouldn't connect.

The ICR is not working for me. I make a call, click menu, click start recording. Nothing happens. I looked for recordings in my internal and on device memory. Can not find the recording. "Start Recording" never changes. When i click menu again it says "start recording" Should it change? Where is it stored? Thanks for your help.

If you're talking about the 1x/evdo switching it makes perfect sense. I posted about this in the general forum about 2 weeks ago and having forcing 1x since and it saves battery for sure.

It's annoying that doing something basic like that would do that to us. Oh well. :\ If only we could use EVDO for texting and phone calls. Stinking cheap phone companies.
