Re: Sprint Verizon At&t empoyees

someone directed me to post here. not sure if this is the proper thread to be posting in but i figured i'd give it a whirl

I'd like to hear peoples opinions on how good/bad an experience they had with the manufacturers warranty (HTC Touch Pro preferably).

I've had the phone a month and a half and the hardware keyboard is shot. I dont have insurance through sprint but they will replace it with a refurbished touch pro overnight if i go through them for $55... basically what do people think of sending it to HTC? do they try to fix urs or do they just send u out a replacement? would it be refurb or new? how long does it take? is it free besides paying for shipping expense?

question for the sprint reps... how much might a simple keyboard repair cost under no insurance?... lets just say its a loose ribbon or something

any input is appreciated

im not trying to be mean but im going to be straight forward. Why didnt you get insurance. to get a 600 phone without insurance on it probably isnt the best move you ever made. that being said, I'd just pay the $55 deductable and take it as a lesson learned. You can then add the insurance on your new device. you would have to be without a phone if you went through htc

Re: Sprint Verizon At&t empoyees

Ok, I have another question for you Sprint geniuses. If I was to add another line to my current plan, is it possible to then "transfer liability" to him so that he pays his own bill and is responsible for any contract issues for his line? Or will we have to remained grouped and pay together? Thanks in advance!

Re: Sprint Verizon At&t empoyees

i don't know about the sprint genuises line but if you activate a phone or two(shared) one is the primary line and all others are secondary or add on(if you don't have an initial shared plan). if the primary is canceled then all lines are canceled. your question didn't detail much so i hope this helps.

Re: Sprint Verizon At&t empoyees

You can definately add a line and then do a transfer of liability to his name. You both need to go to your nearest Sprint store and fill out a "transfer of liability form" and then pick an individual plan that soots your needs

honestly, i ask myself that question often. i've always had cheap cell phones and they have never ever broken. i've always treated them right, never drop them or get them wet. i know it was foolish not to get the insurance and i prob will decide to pay the $55 and take it as a lesson learned... are refurb touch pros considered not as good? i know that people have stated that the newer touch pros are getting better ie: better slide out for keyboard... little things like that

Ok so here is the kicker. I have a sero plan. Is there a chance that they will make me change my plan to something else when we spin off the new line?

Re: Sprint Verizon At&t empoyees

no....you can add a regular plan to that zero plan, they will encourage to keep that plan, at least thats what I do when I come up with a customer that has that plan. You can have regular plans on the same account....awesome plan.

Call Tech Support (not from your Sprint phone), explain the issue, make sure you have the most current PRL, and then ask for an HLR Reload. I've had to do this before when I got that same message while roaming.

(I am not a Sprint Rep, nor do I play one on TV )
