Re: Sprint forcing premium data on ALL SMARTPHONES
while this sucks, sprint is still the best deal around*, now you just get less of the best deal around*.
*(for unlimited data & mobile to mobile out of the 4 major carriers). the best deal around would probably be those discount carriers like rocket or cricket. even us cellular would probably be cheaper. wonder what that announcement is in february... |

Re: Sprint forcing premium data on ALL SMARTPHONES
i have a couple different ways to handle this, one being canceling my insurance for the tp2 and when it breaks, just cancel service then (i'm out of contract). but them doing this really bothers me, so canceling all together works for me. the sprint # i've had for the last 11 years will be ported to a t-mobile prepaid sim, which will still be used in the sprint tp2....they will lose my $70/month over $10!

Re: Sprint forcing premium data on ALL SMARTPHONES
I'm with Darren on this. I've never been screwed by Sprint in the 6 years I've used them and always been fairly compensated when problems came up. Sometimes the service has been a little lame and the solution (like Dell service) has been to try an unnecessary hard reset, but that's what MyBackup is for.
When I started paying the $10/mo extra for my upgrade from TP to Epic last November, I told them that I had never been able to get better than 1X data networking in my home-office, and sometimes not even that. They sent me a free Air Rave the next day. And my boosted signal strength is now easily worth the extra monthly $$. Also, Sprint, I believe, was the only large wireless company that would not let the government hack into their user base in the Bush/Cheny years. They get points from me for that. I've been paying the extra $10 all along anyway so I have a strong WTH feeling.

Re: Sprint forcing premium data on ALL SMARTPHONES
the android folks waved the white flag for the fee, i will not...point blank. paying the extra $10 doesn't make your device faster, so people just thinks it does and sprint is right there to help them feel better for spending extra for something i get free. my wife has an evo with 4g turned on, my hd7 with 3g smokes it.

to be real though, we all know that the certifications dont really matter after the fact. they were both ruled 3g and then everyone threw a fit, so the itu were pressured into calling them 4g. check my links doc. |
