Thanks, I will look for it.

Also i am not getting the no service signal again. Do i need to change my startup.txt on the 'cdma line' to 0? I know thats what i had to do a couple weeks ago. Any info on that would be great. TIA!

I suppose, but it's hard to go back to WM once you've used Android for a while. It really is excellent.

Get GPS Status. Locks on quick because it downloads the aGPS data like QuickGPS in Winmo.

Still having issues w/ not waking from sleep, all new build, reformatted using the tools recommended, reloaded sd card w/ new build, did update, set up again, runs nice but goes to sleep and won't wake up, LED is on orange, etc, etc. WTF... still loving this stuff though, my hats off to everyone!

Hrm... That's very odd. Are you getting it every single time your phone goes to sleep?

Also, the LED should be green if it's sleeping - orange=wake, green=sleep. Are you OC'ing it? Have you tried not...?

Hahaha, I know the feeling. I just had too many issues with phone calls, it worries me whenever I stay in Android for a long time.

If you're GSM... then yes. You definitely need to set that CDMA line to 0...

Yes. You can try that GPS Status app, I've never used it before, but I was going to suggest using QuickGPS in WinMo before booting Android - it helps my lock-ons immensely. Are you at least getting the GPS icon in the notification bar?

I am using a Sprint Touch Pro 2.
The GPS doesn't seem to be working for me. It shows me somewhere near Africa. I have enabled location services in the settings and the GPS in google maps.
Thanks

I realized the colors after I posted, and it's not every time, just getting more and more frequent. I've tried dropping the OC to min (600) for now to see how it works and if it keeps happening I'll drop the OC completely. It's just strange, never had any issues other than an occasional voice problem which was fixed by turning speaker on and off quick, until recently. But all in all it's incredible to have what we've got, and my hats off to you for all of your help. Why ur not a VIP is beyond me, gotta hit some more thanks for you, you've been helpful as all hell around here lately!!!

You need to use quick gps in windows mobile first (its a program that comes with windows mobile). Then lock on times in Android are very quick.

If you don't use quickgps I believe it will lock on eventually, but it may take 5-10 minutes.

Arrrghhh-

I have tried it overclocked, not overclocked, with haret, with update utility, and can reproduce almost every time. This last go around, turned volume down for in incall > volume went down > turned volume up > volume went up > turned down > speaker phone turned on ultra loud > phone locked up > android rebooted > call still active.

Last go:
10/10 not overclocked
loaded by Haret
nothing extra installed, basic, fresh formatted 16 GB card.

cheers

To answer your question i am on sprint. I downloaded Reefer's 9/28 cab and changed the kernal to the 10/4 w/ the battery fix. When I booted via the startup utility it worked just like it supposed to to. not sure if it was something that I did or what. But thank you for your help!!

Hrm. Seems we definitely had a regression... I'll keep at it and try to recreate it. I've definitely had the speaker phone turn on loud when just messing with the volume & Android would reboot to the boot animation with the call still running. Very odd behavior.

I'm not sure if it's due to our incomplete RIL or if this is an actual regression. I've never had good luck with Android & voice calls unfortunately.

Within the app - Menu -> Settings -> GPS & Sensors. You can reset the data from 'Manage A-GPS state" and also set how frequently the data is downloaded under 'Auto-download AGPS data'.

I'm giving it a try. First problem I'm having is the top (Power) button is now putting the TP2 to sleep instead of returning home as in all other releases. Any way to fix this? The End key still puts the TP2 to sleep as normal. At first it looked like it was finally reversed to match the behavior in WinMo but nope. Both keys are putting it to sleep.

EDIT: Nevermind. I fixed the End key (Home) with Spare Parts as suggested at XDA. Now the buttons work like WinMo. Awesome.

does anyone know, how can i install the XDA on the internal of my phone?
on my own observation, the battery is run fast when i install in the Micro SD card. or maybe the xda system is running on the winmo system, that is why, the battery run faster and hot. i only can run the XDA for 5 to 6 hours after the fully charge.

You... can't. I mean there is a NAND in testing, but it's not nearly ready yet - and it still depends on the SD card so not a true flash.

That's not the problem dude. Power management still needs quite a bit of work - the phone is basically working overtime on the processor, so that's why the battery drain is so bad & the phone heats up.

Does anyone else have any problems with the Vibration setting.

I set my phone to vibrate and Ive tried calling and sending texts and the phone doesn't vibrate.

I remember it use to work when sound didn't work.

Am I the only one with this problem?

Also I installed pandora from the market and I guess It installed to my phone and I moved it through Manage applications however now If I go to add widget its no longer there.

How can I fix this. Also How do I get it so that when I download things from the market it defaults to download onto my SDcard rather then my phone?

Thanks to all who help.

Everything installs to the SD card... Android is running off of your SD card, so that's all it knows.

BUT

If thats true how come under Settings/applications/Manage applications it tells me how much Internal memory I have on my phone and how much memory I have on the sdcard.

If the sdcard is all it knows how come you have the option to move your application? "Move to phone" or "Move to SD Card".

If I remove an application from my phone I clear up internal memory space.

Or am I missing something.

I see under sdcard there is an applications folder but not all my apps are in there so arn't they in the phone and if so How do I get it to default to the sdcard? I have a 16gb class 6 sdcard I would like to make good use of it!

1Thats is because we are emulating phone storage.
XDAndroid stores all of it's apps and settings in a file called "data.img". It is a fixed size file of 256MB. Everything that you change in settings or install via the market will be installed in this file. The free space you see is the "free" space left in this file. It is possible to make this file bigger, but you need some *nix knowledge to do so.

Spot on. There's a couple of ways to change it - you can either expand the file yourself, or modify the rootfs (I believe...) to just create a bigger one.

Forgot to answer this part of the question - by default it's set to only vibrate when in silent mode. If you poke around the sound options, you'll see you can set it to vibrate "Always".

but at the risk of sounding like a N00b is there a reason why its so small?

Does it make android more stable?

It is set to always.

It doesn't ring and vibrate just rings and if I set it to only vibrate the phone acts as if its in silent mode.

You guys dont have the same problem?

EDIT: Note that the phone does vibrate when im lowering the volume to the vibrate setting. However, it doesn't vibrate. It remains silent.

Also The phone does vibrate when Im removing it from lock and such because I have "Haptic Feedback" selected. So my phone has the capability, just not during notifications and calls.

Honestly not sure. Probably to accommodate smaller cards (so a guy with the 512mb card can still use it....) Remember, for everyone's sake this project tries to be friendly to everyone. Is 256mb not enough...? I've never ran into an issue, but I've never installed more than maybe 15 apps...

Very odd. I even tested this myself, because I found at first it didn't vibrate when I called - but when I changed that setting to vibrate "Always" it works for me. I also get the haptics when I unlock the screen, and for notifications... so I'm not sure what could be up. May want to do the typical troubleshooting steps - make sure you're up to date, delete (move, rename) data.img, start with a clean build, format the card. Knock out each one of those one-by-one, and test in between. Hopefully it's something trivial.

As Long as it does work. Not sure if it was in the build...

Its no big deal I have android running the way I want I rather not touch it for something so simple.

Thanks for all your helped I appreciate it.

And @ domoarigato

Go to the market and download Gps status.

It worked for me. I too had problems with GPS and my location but it works now.

Does it make android more stable?

Probably because of the answer above.
Also, android will create this file for you itself on the first boot. That creation takes about minute or 2. If it would create a 512 MB file, that would add 2 more minutes to the first boot time.
Another reason would probably be that a bigger file would take up a lot of unneeded room on your card. Users with smaller SD-cards would probably don't like a 512 MB file with only 20MB of real data in it ;)
