Mic init issue, not a volume issue at all. Try updating, I think the new kernel is supposed to fix this. If not, there's a trick - I can never remember how it works exactly, but some say flipping the speakerphone on/off fixes it, others say that adjusting the volume control does.

However, I'd try to update the kernel first before doing anything else.

The issue has to do with the audio file's metadata and how the audio file is tagged.
There is a thread over at code.google.com that addresses it from the Vogue port days.

Issue 2 - vogue-android - Ring tones only ring once - Project Hosting on Google Code

There is a link to an Android "media" folder that has ring tones, alarms, etc. that loop correctly.
I'm sure with more research you can find out how to edit your ring tones to loop.

Just like he said - make a call in WinMo with something plugged into the jack (to voicemail or the like, call has to stay active) and boot Android. Should be good. It used to break all sound tho, perhaps it doesn't any longer... I should play with it.

Yes, in your cmdline in your startup.txt. Don't use the MGJDroidUtil if you modify your startup, it will blast out any customizations you have done.
