Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [10/04] BATT UPDATES!
I spoke to soon, back to the "No Service" again. It's booting up in Airplane mode and when I try to toggle it off it attempts it then reverts back. Tried booting using Haret.exe from the sd card and the Project Android icon. What should I be choosing in device selection? I tried Rhod500 and Tilt2 with the same results. Thanks, Tommy.

Turned Overclock back on and no service again, turned it back off and i have service again. I'll leave it off for awhile and see if it really was is causing it. If so I'll try it with the lowest clock spped 1st until I find a happy place for it.
SIM still in....for now. |

But like stated unless you need ur sim for overseas travel then take it out and it should boot right the first time. |
Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [10/04] BATT UPDATES!
Android can only use one radio or the other, so you have to chose between GSM or CDMA. I don't have a SIM card to test with, but I've heard that you do have to remove the SIM card if you want to use the CDMA service. Do you use both simultaneously in WinMo...?

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [10/04] BATT UPDATES!
sorry if I din't post correctly this is my first post... Thanks to everyone for their hard work... I hope this helps, I had the same problem.
is the first step of the guide made by teradog"1. PULL SIM OUT: take out battery, use stylus to wedge out white rectangular SIM downward" Quote:
GO TO: Simple Guide: ANDROID TP2 CDMA TIPS/FAQ’s Sept. 2010 by Teradog .[/QUOTE]VII. TIPS, TWEAKS & TRICKS (stuff to try) Get droid to work with the sim card. I can't take credit for this but it worked. 1. Make sure droid is up and running and working fine. 2. Shut down, remove SD card, insert sim card, restart. 3. After complete boot, got to settings>personal>phone and set to cdma only. 4. shut down again, insert sd card and reboot. - thanks swlaraut for pointing out a key faq item.[/QUOTE]] I hope that helps |
Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [10/04] BATT UPDATES!
does this still not work with the indaGROOVE roms? i've tried everything to boot into android running this rom, i deleted all the folders (andboot and program files) from my sd card, extracted the latest 10/13 rar onto card and still haret just freezes after the progress bar fills about 85%, i've tried launching haret itself and also the boot utility in program files....:(

Maybe with the upcoming global Android devices from VZW, there will be info that can help the devs get our phones to be true global phones in android as well. Based on a recent pic I saw, they have a few global smartphones with Android being released this quarter.

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [10/04] BATT UPDATES!
So lately my Android has been randomly booting on me. I decided to start with a fresh build, so I did a Quick Format on my SD card and loaded a fresh BLAZN build on there. But when Android loaded up, I couldn't select ringtones, only "Silent" was an option. And several apps wouldn't run (such as the music player) saying that I need an SD card to use that program. I fought with it for a long time, trying full formats, the stock Android build, and so forth, and could NOT get it working right again. Finally I tried the official SD Formatter tool I found in the FAQ post, and I can select ringtones again.
...however the reboots have come back. Are the reboots a problem with the current Android kernels, or do you think my SD card is going bad? Or do you think a re-flash of my Windows ROM would help with anything? I know some things in Windows can indirectly affect the Android boot. Any advice is appreciated. It was working perfect for a long time, but doesn't work good anymore.. |
Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [10/04] BATT UPDATES!
Just curious
Does anyone know how to access the phone or sdcard while in android. Like we can through active sync and Disk drive when we plug in with a usbcable? Thanks |

You may try a different SD card, I'd be curious if that is the cause. Doubtful. Do you install a lot of apps? There's a lot of apps that don't work for one reason or another & can/will cause instability. With that said, the newest commits need some patches... there were some regressions, and we're still tryin to dig thru exactly what broke ;) |
Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [10/04] BATT UPDATES!
it seems the new build for android has both the power button and the end call button set as the POWER button for Android. Does anyone know how to change the power button to be the HOME button for Android?

Roaming only option? Can we? I go to settings, Wireless & network, Mobile networks, Network operators. The 2 choices don't give an option to select any other network.

The mic *should* be working on the new kernel. It seems some devices may still be left in the cold, I'm not sure why tho. Are you having the incoming call issue where no one can hear you...? Calling voicemail in WinMo first while the phone boots should fix this. There's a couple of other mic issues out there that I know of. The mic doesn't work on apps, and the mic doesn't work on the speakerphone. I believe the calling voicemail first trick fixes all of those issues - although I don't think I've tested the in-call mic w/speakerphone after calling vm first. |
