Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [6/23] EXT2 BUILD ADDED!

im having a problem with the loader/haret interface. occasionally i will load it up and it will wipe out everything in startup.txt??? even selecting the right options doesn't do anything. it just directs me to the haret screen asking me to point haret in the direction of a script to load. Ive been thru several roms and task29s and the problem still exists. If i set the startup.txt file to read only will that mess anything up??

This may sound strange, but turn the backlight brightness setting from auto to 50% brightness or higher. When mine is set to the lowest brightness setting, I got that lock up, like sleep of death.

Hi, thanks for your answer. I can't find an auto setting. I go to settings->sound & display settings->brightness and I have only a slider to adjust, no auto option.

And, I didn't work. :sad: My screen locked up and the phone restarted.

Do you have your handset overclocked? If so, then you need to read the FAQ a bit more carefully, you may be missing the sleep changes needed to OC.

I dont think so, test it and let us know. Thats a good idea for prevention if it works. :)

Ya on the brightness, if you notice it doesnt work across the entire range from high to low, for me at the lowest setting it actually gets brighter so I think I left it at 50% or so.

Nope, it's not overclocked. I set my brightness around 50% with the slider. The wierd thing is that it only happens in CDMA mode, I don't have that problem under GSM.

nah.... the chip architecture with the Rhodium is different for how it does sound... ive been trying to play around with some code on the windows side to see if i can trace the drivers down. if i end up with another phone i might canibalize this one just to see if i can figure it out.

Played and tested it... HaRet will boot this way just fine ( already figured this one) When the Winmo loader tries to execute it writes a new startup.txt file, ill pull it open and see if i can find a glitch, and/or add some code so that way it saves it as a read only before launching haret and then sets full access when it opens it

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [7/01] FROYO BETA ADDED!

before upgrading to 7/1 froyo, where do my apps reside on the SD Card? I see the ANDROID APPS folder but that doesnt look like all the apk's I've downloaded. Are there other places?

Also, are there any other files recommended to keep from build to build such as dictionaries ect?

Just curious, I wont be devastated if it demands a COMPLETE removal/ fresh install.

I'm about to load it up in a few minutes, I'll let you know my results fam.

I dont know if the APN trick is still needed or if the "Scan Network > Timeout > Rescan Network" trick applies to this build yet either. I'll let you know...

Just loaded the froyo build on my Sprint TP2. I had trouble getting data on the ext2 build but this build found my 3g data eventually after a few mins.

I just installed the Froyo build coming from the 06/23 2.1 build, and my wifi does not work. How do I get it to work? It was working in 2.1, so I assume I have not done something correctly yet.

Bah :( Well, I wish you luck in your cannibalizing adventures. Would it be of any help to look at a phone that uses the same chipset? Like the Backflip perhaps?

I love this update....
the only reason i was not using previous builds was that exchange calendar was not working on any of the builds except the sense one (which was laggy, buggy and crashed a lot)..
this froyo upgrade allows me to sync up my outlook calendar via exchange server
i am going to start using android for work and WM for home :)

Setting up a mock APN worked for me.
To do so,
go to Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names > Press the Android Key >
Name = "aaa",
APN = "anything"
Server = "internet.com".
Hit menu button and save the settings

Just formatted my card and installed the Froyo build. 3G works with the mock apn trick, but wifi wont find my network, it scans and says that is cant run scan, I rebooted a few times, then re installed, does it not work yet? its fine if it dosen't, I just didn't know if it was just mine. Thanks.

Actually you dont even have to do that, just put something in for a name and APN and it will connect.

My wifi also does not work. I'm waiting to hear about a fix or a solution. I have to use WM for now, or revert back to the 6/23 build.

using the beta froyo 2.2 build

Is there a way to prevent voice dialing and voice search from running? Since it doesn't work there doesn't seem any point in leaving it running.

Also, is there anyway to get the phone to vibrate when I recieve a txt msg? I can live with vibe only for calls - but no notification at all for txt messages makes it a pain since i have to keep checking the phone.

And thanks to everyone who worked on this. Really cool!

open messaging and hit the menu button (the windows logo) and select settings. scroll down and select vibrate, and enable always on

Not sure if its just me or if its a bug but my Android Gallery App doesnt respond. It never finds pics and just sits there doing nothing till a pop up message asks if I want to Force Kill or Wait. If you wait nothing happens so I have to kill it. Not sure if Im supposed to wait a long time for it to respond or find pictures but I dont have many images on my SD Card for it to take long at all.

This is on the newest build 7/1 Froyo 2.1

same thing is happening to me. Although i dont really care about it since i dont really need a gallery app. Just adding my 2 cents so you know it's not just you.

I dont need it either for my pictures but I need it for my wallpapers. I guess I can try to install by chosing a file manager, its just that in the past I havent had any luck being able to assign wallpapers through file managers only through the gallery or through wallpaper app. I just want to be able to use the wall's i already have saved in my storage card.

ah, i didn't realize the only (apparent) way of picking a wall paper was through the gallery. i don't usually bother with a wall paper so i never looked into it. Although now that i know i cant pick one, i want one ;)
